  1. Yes, I have taken my exam and I passed in 75 questions. ATI prepared me well. If you score in the hard category and are getting 50% right I bet your good for NCLEX.
  2. I'm in the same boat. Waiting for my ATT, wanting to enjoy the sunshine, but also trying not to forget everything I learned in nursing school!! I am studying about the same as you. I'm taking 2 exams a day which takes me a little more than 2 hours. My school uses ATI so I have been building quizzes and taking the CAT exams. I also use the Saunders's study guide. My plan is to just keep plugging away until I get my ATT. Best of luck to you fellow new grad!
  3. Hello, New grad here preparing for NCLEX. I have been using ATI's adaptive tests. I've had 3 test shut off at 75 scoring hard difficulty ranging from 51, 67, and 84th percentile. Along with 1 exam shut off at 117 question level hard at the 26th percentile. Are these scores good enough for passing the NCLEX? I'm only getting a little more than half of the questions right. What should my goal be for scoring with these CAT exams? Thanks!
  4. Hi everyone, Soon to be new grad RN ? just curious how long did it take to get your key to test for the NCLEX after graduation? My paperwork is all submitted. The BON is just waiting for my transcripts.
  5. I just want to make sure I'm following best practice. I have watched a lot of videos on diluting IV push meds and they draw from a vial of NS. In clinical I've seen nurses use the flushes.
  6. Hello there, I am wondering if it is acceptable to draw up an IV push medication that is to be diluted in normal saline with a pre-filled normal saline flush? Or should I pull the normal saline from a single use vial of normal saline? I have seen in practice people using IV flush syringes to draw up IV push meds. I'm just wondering what is the best practice? Does anybody have any evidence base articles about it?
  7. Yes, that's a given. I'm looking for more specific information regarding infusion therapy. We were told we need to make sure we know the difference between a flush bag and maintenance fluids, what's having in the pts room, how old the tubes etc, how the IV flushes. Is there anything else I need to know to manage my IV sites/lines well.
  8. Hi, when hanging an IV medication in clinical what information do you need to have ready for your instructor. I need to able to manager my IV sites better and need some guidance.
  9. Hi there, I am a senior nursing student graduating in May!! I can't wait to start my career. I am a nurses aide for home care agency. I have worked there for 5 years. My question is, will visiting nurse agencies hire new grad nurses? The hospital isn't for me. I know everyone recommends two years of Med Surg, but this isn't where my heart is. I really meant to be a visiting nurse. Thanks!
  10. Hi, just wondering if nursing students generally pass meds during the OB clinical rotation?
  11. Hi everyone, just curious if anyone else has developed worsening symptoms of depression and anxiety during nursing school? I've cried everyday this week. I had a rough week in clinical and made couple mistakes. I'm starting to doubt my capabilities and question being a nurse all together. I'm feeling so low and anxious all the time. I literally feel like I'm going to be sick all day. Last year I got straight A's and was the top of my class. I'm in my last year now and I'm not so sure I can hang on. I have made an appointment with therapist, but it's not for a couple weeks. I'm really struggling. I feel like my instructors hate me and I feel incompetent. I'm just looking for some support and am wondering if anyone else out there feels the same way.
  12. I'm still unsure how to differentiate between the two. We have medication grids we're suppose to fill out with two separate catagories for side effects and adverse effects. I don't see how my drug guide book distinguishes between the two. It's really confusing.
  13. Hey all, I was wondering if some could explain to me the difference between adverse effects and side effects. My Davis Drug Book has usually two separate catagories for drugs, but some only have adverse effects listed. Thanks!
  14. Hey all - I'm not a strong math student. I scored 85% on the math section of the Teas, B- in applied college math, and an A in foundations of Chem. Do you think I'm capable of med Math? Is it mostly directional analysis (unit conversion) we did A LOT of this is chem.
