  1. I have but I was notified about 2 weeks ago that my application would not receive a decision unless I turned in a North Carolina Nurse Aide license which I’m not going to do. I’ve heard many people got in without it and I even called during the summer to see if I had to apply with it and they said no, they get applications without it all the time. The issue is that I live in VA and have my nurse aid license here. NC does not do transfers so I would have to travel there and sit for the exam and that just seems like too much for me to not even know whether I’ll be going to NCAT or not. I was totally ok with doing that if I got into the school and decided to go.
  2. I have to agree. I did dual enrollment in High School where I graduated with my Associate's and HS diploma. My GPA for my Associate's degree was a 2.7. I was able to graduate my Bachelor's in 2 years with a overall GPA of 3.5, my pre-req GPA was a 3.0 (I failed anatomy the first time, my school does A & P separate). But I have over 3 years volunteering in a healthcare setting, 1 year as a CNA, internship experience in substance abuse, another in health administration, I was also a RA at my university, and an instructor for summer camp. My main point was how I accomplished so much in a short amount of time and how all my experiences have shaped me.
  3. ? Try to be understanding. It may have just been a hard selection. Nursing programs have the most qualified candidates and it’s hard to set them apart and all of us constantly calling doesn’t help.
  4. It said mid-October on WSSU's website but I was looking at other threads and people got their decisions Oct. 18 so I'm hoping in two weeks.
  5. Thanks for the insight and congrats on both acceptances! Just out of curiosity, which school did you decide to go to and why? Also, how do you like your program?
  6. Mine was a provisional acceptance. I met the terms a few weeks after I received it so I'm all good to go. As long, as you meet the terms of the provision, you're fine. Send them what they need as soon as it is completed. Good luck! Keep us updated
  7. I submitted my application late June/early July and got accepted. Although, I am still waiting on other schools and considering other factors like housing to decide if I will be attending or not... What about you?
  8. Has anyone applying to NCAT seen an update in their application in terms of them receiving your transcripts? I sent mine the first week in August and got an email from my school that it was received but my NCAT app hasn't been updated, I've been calling the school and leaving voicemails but no response back.
  9. Hey! I'm also applying to WSSU. I'm from Virginia. I did dual enrollment in HS and have a AS in Social Science from that and I am about to graduate with my BS in Kinesiology. I have about a year experience as a CNA and over 4 years experience volunteering in a healthcare setting, I've also completed an internship in a substance abuse recovery center. Good luck to you and everyone applying as well!
  10. Also, is anyone looking for a roommate for Leesburg campus?
  11. Hey all! I'm making this thread for those applying to Shenandoah University for Spring 2020 start
  12. My last item was received 6/18
  13. I've heard it's possible. They also look at factors like experience, test scores, recommendations, etc. And if you're taking other classes right now, they calculate that into your overall gpa.
  14. Hey all! I'm making this thread for students applying to Towson University's 2nd degree nursing for a start of Spring 2020. Does anyone know when the application to apply to Towson opens? I've already applied to the college of nursing.
  15. Hey y'all! I just submitted my application! So do we get calls about interviews after the submission deadline or one our application is complete?
  16. Hello! I'm planning on applying to NCAT. Do you know when the application will be available? I check their website often but the one for 2020 hasn't been uploaded yet.
