Duquesne online FNP - anyone?
This is someone in their third and final year in the program. I would say be prepared to teach yourself a lot in the clinical course semesters, which I think is unfair since you have to do so many things outside of school on your own. I feel for an online school; you should have more guidance in lectures and such. I think for anyone who is going into any NP Program, make sure to ask what they do in regards to helping you find preceptors because that will be a lifesaver. Duquense helps, but the problem is AHN and UPMC are the biggest people, and they have special procedures, and if you do not follow them, you can get kicked out of your program.

New Nurse writing about Central Auditory Processing Disorder
I was diagnosed with APD at age 6 and ADD at age 9. I have been a nurse for almost 4 years now, and I have worked Long-Term Care, Med-Surg, and ER so far. I would say an excellent place to start in your nursing career is an office setting because there is a routine in the environment. You could also consider Long-Term care because not many changes in the patients or methods as well.

Auditory Processing Disorder and the nursing profession
I was diagnosed with CAP at the age of 6. My mother still remembers how she was told that I would probably do average in school and would not likely go to technical school or work at a job that wasn't high paying like a bank teller. (Yes, the people told my mom that about best working as a bank teller. No shame to bank tellers.) My mom said to those people that she (me) would decide what I am capable of. I had the benefit of having supportive teachers throughout my life. To make this even more challenging, I was also diagnosed with ADD at the age of 9. During nursing school, I immediately got into contact with the disability services of my school and presented them with the documents of my IEP's throughout the school. I got time and a half for the exams. That helped tremendously because I was in a room that was either blocked off in the desks or I was by myself in the place taking the exam. Limiting distractions was vital. I would say the most significant thing regarding taking exams and finals is you need to focus on areas that you feel you are weak. You cannot absorb everything that is presented in the class. No one can. It's OK. I still even being a nurse for four years and currently in an MSN program to focus on the things I can control and not the things I can't. I currently work part-time in a small community hospital in the ER and presently in an MSN program to become a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Accepted by more than 1 Grad School
If you don't mind me asking, what school are you attending?

Accepted by more than 1 Grad School
All of the grad schools help in one way or another. Some help a little more in that they find the sites for you or they give you options and make the best recommendations.

Accepted by more than 1 Grad School
I recently got accepted into 2 Grad Schools for MSN FNP programs. I am also waiting on the response of another university as well. I am having a hard time deciding which school is best for me. I keep getting good vibes from people, but I am having a hard time telling which school is the best option for me. All my choices are online with 1-2 on-campus visits. All schools area around the same cost. I guess I'm afraid of making the wrong decision. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I feel like choosing a school for my ASN and BSN was a lot easier than this.
