HELP! Which Nursing Prereqs should I take at once?!?!
Those are some heavy courses. I would recommend taking one or two of those classes online in the summer. (Like Nutrition, Statistics or even Human Growth and Development)

CSUEB - Cal State East Bay Nursing BSN Spring 2020
Certain aspects of volunteering at the hospital can be multicultural as well. http://www.csueastbay.edu/nursing/files/docs/optional-work-volunteer-form.pdf

CSUEB - Cal State East Bay Nursing BSN Spring 2020
Examples of multicultural volunteering is: helping at the homeless shelter, educating the homeless on basic hygiene, volunteering at nonprofits that help marginalized groups, etc. The program requires a signed letter from the organization as proof of volunteer work. Doesn't have to be in healthcare. Your sister should email the nursing dept because they can always provide additional information. That's what I did.

BAY AREA NURSING: SMU vs. CSUs [I NEED HELP/ADVICE!!!]
I applied to SFSU and CSUEB for Spring 2020 and was admitted to CSUEB. I did not hear from SFSU, which is fine because CSUEB was my first choice. I possibly could not imagine commuting to the city for clinicals. In regards to Eastbay prioritizing local residents, YES, you are awarded additional points if you did most of your pre reqs locally. In another thread, someone did all of their pre-reqs locally, but had their second bachelors elsewhere, so those points did not count, which sucks. In addition, SJSU DOES NOT take transfers for Spring admission, only for FALL, (even though they have a cohort for spring) so you will have to make sure that read the fine print on their application. SMU is pretty expensive, but trust me, although it is expensive, there are many pre-nursing students trying to get into that program for some reason. If your schedule allows, I would highly recommend volunteering to gain additional admissions points. Good luck!

same boat as you. I am assuming that they are waiting for all who accept into the program before releasing university admission.

Aww!! I'm sorry! There was a post from a couple of years ago with more insite. (see below) Did he apply to the accelerated BSN program? In addition, what I had were volunteer hours that were both healthcare and multi-cultural.

Final Pre-Nursing Schedule
You are nuts to mix in Pharmacology into that schedule. My Pharm class eats up a lot of my study time.

Did your spouse get in?

CSUEB - Cal State East Bay Nursing BSN Spring 2020
Hey!! Have you tried looking through Craigslist? I just looked and there are some available rooms for rent. I would suggest Concord/Pleasant Hill area first because DVC (Diablo Valley College) is in that area and someone may be looking for a roommate. Then spread out to Martinez and Pittsburg. Walnut Creek might be more, but hopefully that helps.

I thought the letter was fake, so I forwarded the letter to the nursing dept with my acceptance, as proof. LOL

Practice exam A and B
Is this your first attempt with A and B? If so, you can retake it again. If you want to take a look at your questions along with answers, you should do one section at a time. You don't need to go immediately to the next section. It will know where you stopped. But once you're done with the entire practice exam, it won't let you go back.

Sacramento State Spring 2020
I really think that the only way to increase your points is to do phenomenally well on your TEAS test. Your GPA looks great already. Since the total amount of points dropped from 100 to 80, I feel that chances of getting in at 61/80 seems good. Statistically in the past, they were mid-70's and up, but at 100 points max. Have you tried inputting your grades into their electronic points calculator? You're right above cut off of 60. The calculator will let you know if you are eligible or not, based on your pre req grades and your TEAS. This way, you can calculate what TEAS score you want to hit, in order to remain competitive. I really hope that your counselor is very informative with details. I had the opportunity to meet with a four year university counselor at my community college, and they provided information that I don't think I received from any of the counselors from the community college I attended. CSUS Spring 2020 is one of the programs that I do plan to apply this summer, although I'm from the Bay Area. I plan to apply at CSUEB and SFstate as well. Best of luck!

Volunteer Experience for Pre Nursing Student
Hi, I am a current volunteer at Kaiser in the Eastbay, and the process took me at least 6 months from the day I applied to an actual interview. Then two months post interview until I started working as a volunteer (includes orientation, and updating all of my vaccines, including two TB tests). If you don't have that type of time on your hands to wait, then I would suggest Alta Bates Medical Center. A friend of mine applied to volunteer and got placed within a month. You should try there. Again, you will need to update your vaccines to work in a hospital setting. Hopefully that helps!
