  1. Hello all, I need some advice...: I'm looking to apply through the VA for the USAGPAN program, but here's the rub: Out of high school, I went to the UofI as a premed chemistry major. Despite having a 3.6 gpa in high school, I floundered in my 2 years (2007-2009) of college there, having never developed any discipline or studying skills as they weren't necessary for my success at the time. After figuring out I was going nowhere with it, I joined the military in an effort to correct those character flaws. I became a 68W (medic) in the guard, did a tour in Afghanistan, and came back to go to nursing school. I got my associates with a 3.04 gpa, worked as a nurse for a few years, then went back and got a 4.0 in my Bachelor's work. The dilemma is this, since I was a chem major in the beginning and absolutely sucked at college at the time, my science GPA is low, like mid 2. range. Am I completely screwed? I feel like the upward trend of my gpa moving towards a 4.0 for my Bachelor's work says something about me, but I want to know if I'm screwed out of the gate or not...
