    ATI Critical Thinking Exam

Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. Does anyone have any tips on how to prepare for the ATI Critical Thinking Exam? I'm re-entering a different nursing school & I have Fundamentals & Med Surg under my belt. I'm thinking it may be "think like a nurse questions, while that answer is correct it is not the most correct" type questions but I don't want to assume. Any advice?? Thanks in advance!!
  2. Is anyone applying or have applied to the ASN or BSN program at Middle Georgia State University?? MGSU

    Ethical Issues

Hey everyone. I have a question. There is a nurse that I know of who takes exotic photos, has an OnlyFans account, "models" in music videos & doesn't mind posing near naked in sexually suggestive positions on social media sites. (She doesn't hide ANYTHING!) That's her life BUT my question is: Can a healthcare employer fire someone for what they do outside of their career as a nurse??? I know we are pillars in the community & are held to a high standard but I want to know, technically, is this woman in the wrong & would or could her job or license be on the line........Thanks in advance for the feedback given!

I care because I want to be educated in these areas. What you don't know CAN HURT YOU! & I'm not bothering her but there is a miserable person on facebook who is trying to get her fired & my curiosity peaked.

My nursing instructors always tell us we're held to a high standard & we're pillars in the community.

She uses her entire government name. (First, middle & last) Her boldness amazes me! Hey, it's her life but my curiosity peaked wondering could she lose her job.

Well said!! Thank you!!! That's the answer I was searching for. I've seen it numerous times here recently & being that I'm a nursing student, I wasn't sure.

@caliotter3 As a matter of fact I DID read the story. & it wasn't just because she called a black man "African American" ......She called 911 & lied, saying the man was threatening her & her dog's life. She added the African American part to get police there even faster. She was holding up the line preventing a REAL emergency from being reported. She ISN'T above park rules! All she had to do was apologize & put the dog on the leash. Now she's jobless & dogless & it serves her RIGHT! In all honesty she should be charged with attempted murder because that situation, LIKE SOOOOOOO MANY PRIOR TO, could have easily gone left & that gentleman could have lost his life to a LIE stemming from inherited false privilege. While she was lying, she didn't realize she was choking her own dog! I was more so asking the question from a moral standpoint. Like a moral clause & things along those lines & could it hold up in court. That was a terrible example but I see where you were attempting to go with that.

    Dismissed, what now?

I fully agree!! @Forever Curls Appeal and talk to the dean. If he or she is no help, go above their heads to the Vice President of the college & so on & so forth. If it's your passion, GO FOR IT!!!!! No matter how discouraging people can be, it's your life, you have to be happy with it...including your career.
  10. Hey, is anyone applying to the Fall 2020 cohort at Middle Georgia State University?? If so, do you all know any details or what to expect? #MGSU

    ATI Critical Thinking Exam

Hey! It's something you can't study for. The questions are literally off the wall. For example: If cup A holds twice as much as cup C but cup B is less than E and F combined, which cup holds the most. Stuff like that.

    Most of the class cheating??

I can't believe there are people out there that would cheat through nursing school. That's DANGEROUS. These are people's lives we're dealing with & saving! How awful!!!!

What type of GPA/TEAS scores are you applying with? Thinking of applying for fall 2021 ASN program after my first year of pre-reqs.  Did anyone do their first year prereqs at MGA Cochran?  I have visited campus once but it seems so remote.  Please let me know your experiences. tyia

Hello nurse_2b! I have 4.0 GPA and 83 TEAS. The ASN program admits fall students on Cochran and Spring students on Dublin. The program average GPA is around 3.1 and average TEAS is around 72. The program admits around 50 for ASN per cohort (Spring and fall). They also have a BSN program with the fall at the Macon campus and Spring ar Warner Robins. The BSN accepts 100 per cohort and the GPA is close to 3.5 and TEAS closer to 75. As the program becomes more well known it becomes more competitive, so keep that in mind when looking at these averages. You can go to

for more info. You can visit all pages and find out a little more about the program, teachers, and GPA/TEAS. I hope this helps!

@PoweRNursing I will be commuting. I applied to both the ASN & BSN programs. Praying to get into one or the other. @nurse_2b my GPA is a 3.3 & my TEAS score is a 77. I haven't taken any classes at MGA. I have a prior Bachelor's Degree from another university so I've taken all of my pre-reqs

@PoweRNursing Right. If it's your passion, let N O T H I N G deter you! My instructors never gave us study guides but they would repeat certain things during lecture & that let us know to be knowledgeable about it. My tips would be, & this may sound obvious, but do not procrastinate. It's too much material & it'll be very hard, if not impossible, to catch up. Highlighters are your friends lol....I'm a highlighter queen. I even have a color coded system. Pinterest has great highlighter ideas as well. Read, then re-read. I'm a visual learner so me reading something once won't do me any good. I have to teach it to myself in a special way to have it down packed. Sitting in the front is a great idea also. There are too many distractions anywhere else. (Our lectures lasted anywhere from 4 to 8 hours a day. So I didn't want any distractions) There is a BIG difference between knowing the information & memorizing the information. It's people's lives we're saving so who would memorize you may say.....unfortunately a lot of students do. It's scary. Also, this isn't a study tip but it's a nursing school tip, you'll find people to study with or be drawn to but please don't clique up with the *wrong* people. Some will be failing silently & want to bring you down with them. I've seen it happen. Even our instructors warned us about toxic cliques. I've attached a quote that's on my book shelf with my nursing books. I live by it.
  25. Hey everyone. I was in Nursing School but because of death in my family, I couldn't focus & pass my labs. Now I want a fresh start & I'm applying to a different nursing school. When asked on the application have I attended nursing school before, will it hurt or help me to say yes & list why........... Serious feedback please.
