  1. Hi, I completed both my ASN, as well as BSN through kent state, and have had a wonderful experience. With that said, I'm curious to know others' experiences with the APRN Programs - was it a positive experience? How was the curriculum? What challenges did you face throughout the program?
  2. Hi, I'm currently in the process of applying by endorsement but im having trouble understanding the fingerprinting and background checks. Maybe you could help? 1) im from out of state (PA) - what are the steps for me to get fingerprinted and my background check? im not sure where to even go since im not an Illinois resident - going to the wrong place and getting the wrong thing is so simple, but im always fearful of messing something up. I saw the list on the website, are any of these ones I can use being out of state? 2) Do we need BOTH official transcripts sent AND a signed letter from the dean sealed? thank you
  3. Hi all, I've been a LPN for 7 years with hospice and med/surg experience and just this year passed my RN boards and started working in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit this July. I applied to this job wanting that critical care experience and I also have a huge passion for cardio. It just clicks with me. Most recently I've been struggling with the alternating shifts and overall anxiety that comes with this position. I do struggle with anxiety and depression and take medications daily, and it seems to be flaring up recently due to this job (for obvious reasons). Medication adherence has been lackluster and I find myself constantly taking them at different times throughout the day due to this swing shift. Just today I was offered a position at a hospice agency for $6 more an hour and a M-F schedule with occasional on-call hours. Hospice has always been my second home and im naturally very good at it. I guess my dilemma here is im not sure what to do. They say wait 8-12 months to get your groove in the ICU. I do love this type of nursing, despite the anxiety. and nothing beats the feeling of making it through a shift. But I can't help but think if its worth the stress and money? As a 30 y/o with extensive debt and financial obligations, money is a huge factor. Part of me doesn't want to quit, but part of me knows the ICU isn't my be all end all - I don't see myself necessarily working in the ICU forever. I actually have a strong desire to pursue my masters and become a palliative nurse practitioner. I need experienced input and advice. im not a quitter - but how much is my mental health and stability worth? Do I tough it out and push through for a year and possibly switch to a different specialty? or do I go per-diem and work hospice full-time for more pay and less stress? Halp. Aaron
  4. I took it and it shut off at 75. I did the PVT and I got the good pop-up. I just checked my “unofficial” results and I passed! trust your glimmer! Also brush up on endocrine because for me it was very heavy on the subject. Haha. you’ll do great! Good luck! ?
  5. Welp. After waiting for about a month to test post-graduation, "NCLEX Eve" has finally arrived. (more like afternoon, but you get my drift). I took and passed the NCLEX-PN back in 2015 and passed with 85 questions. I've been working on a medical/surgical floor throughout the entirety of my LPN to ADN program and I have to say that experience definitely helped prepare me for school and this exam. However, I still can't help but be scared to fail. I've been utilizing Mark Klemik's recorded review and just finished the last recording. I've also been using UWorld and have been averaging between 55% and 65%. But im wondering if anyone has any tricks up their sleeves for my exam tomorrow. Any last-minute tips or advice? Thank you!
  6. Hi, I recently graduated from an accredited institution within Ohio this past Spring semester. I have submitted all required information and applied for RN licensure/to test and I believe my school has sent over the program completion form to prove that I have successfully completed a nursing program in Ohio just today. My question is In regards to the status. When I log in it states that the application is in progress, but there is nothing on the website that indicates what this status means. I was hoping someone could tell me so I can better understand the process to receive my ATT for the NCLEX-RN. Also, what’s the usual turnaround time once the information has been received from the institution/nursing school to provide the student with their Authorization To Test (ATT)? Thank you
