  1. Also only heard back from LIU not pace... Is there a reason you would go to Pace over LIU?
  2. Anyone been or currently in the program that can share what their experience has been thus far?
  3. Ya, Maria Gallo sent me that too- but it's not so clear when the breaks are- since there are multiple programs listed together in one calendar. Also I'm from queens so also pretty local... As for the nutrition class- I took it last summer at queens college- it was for 4 weeks in June. As for a payment program this link gives you all info about the program including payment plans in detail https://www.mountsinai.org/files/MSHealth/Assets/MSBI/Student-Catalog.pdf V. Tuition Payment Procedures Tuition bills are emailed to students approximately one month prior to the beginning of each semester. Appropriate tuition and fees are expected to be paid in full prior to the beginning of each semester, unless a payment plan is in place. Tuition and all other fees are to be paid at the Office of Financial Aid on the 4th Floor. Tuition may be paid via personal check, money order, bank cashier’s check or credit card. NO CASH PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. An insufficient funds fee will be applied for any returned checks. A late fee of $35.00 is charged for bills not paid on or before the due date on the bill 1. Full payment – this is the regular and preferred payment option. 2. Deferred Payment Plan – Deferred payment arrangements must be made with the bursar’s office one week prior to the start of classes. A one-time fee of $25 is charged to set-up a deferred payment plan. A $50 late fee is charged for EACH installment paid after the due date. 3. A minimum payment of at least one third of tuition & fees is required on or before the start of classes. The tuition balance will be deferred if a payment plan has been established. All financial aid paperwork, including loan applications, must be approved before the start of each semester. If financial aid does not cover the tuition charges in full, the student may combine above options to complete the payment obligation.
  4. thank you very much- and just one more ques- how long are the breaks between semesters? (for example I know NYU is 3 months and then a 6 week break and then 3 months and a 3 week break...)
  5. Thanks so much Leah, thought of a few questions if you don't mind 1. How prestigious is the program compared to other top programs such as downstate, hunter, nyu...? 2. Do the professors adequately prepare you for the NCLEX exam? Were the classes stimulating and interesting? 3. Were the clinical locations helpful in hands on experience? 4. How quickly did you get your first job after? Where? and what specialty?(ER, Peds, NICU, ICU...) 5. Were the professors there for you outside of class and for recommendations and so forth? Is the school organized? 6. Did you or someone you know from your year apply to NP programs and if so how was the experience coming out of mount sinai? 7. What was the general weekly schedule like? What days hrs were the classes and clinicals? 8. How flexible are the professors with makeups if you miss an exam or a clinical for a religious holiday or sick day? 9. What were the top three things you can say about Mount Sinai? (Also what year were you in the program?) 10. Is it possible to juggle other things while being in the ABSN program- such as having a job, getting married or having a child? Were there people who had any of these things happen to them your year and if so were they able to successful balance their responsibilities? 11. Would you recommend the program to your family and friends or do you feel you would have done better elsewhere after speaking to friends colleges who completed other programs?
  6. Philips Beth Israel School of Nursing NCLEX STATS for Associates Degree- they don't have ABSN stats yet... 2012 91.7% 88/96 2011 97.6% 82/84 2010 96.9% 93/96 2009 86.2% 106/123 2008 84.6% 88/104
  7. Thanks Fatima- primarily I was just interested in knowing that Mount Sinai's ABSN program does hold weight when applying for jobs, NP school and that they properly prepare students or the NCLEX- from everyone's responses on this forum, as well as speaking to others, it seems very promising. Leah and Fatima- you're both starting Mount Sinai ABSN fall 2019 right?
  8. thanks for all the stats
  9. thanks- did you speak to anyone who went there?
  10. Thanks- Does anyone know how academically prestigious mount sinai is? For example around what prereqs GPA did most people have? Also how competitive it is compared to Hunter, Downstate and NYU?
  11. Can anyone give me more insight into mount sinai's absn program- i'm debating between schools and was wondering if someone can share why they chose Mount Sinai? Also if anyone knows someone currently or formally in the program please let me know- thanks!
  12. I'm looking to speak to someone who graduated from Mount Sinai's ABSN program- do you know anyone who graduated or is currently in the program? (if anyone else knows someone please let me know)
  13. Nice- I'm also planning on getting my masters. Thanks for your informative response, hope you have much success in making the best decision for you ?
  14. thanks for the quick reply. Do you know anything about Mount Sinai or LIU compared to NYU other than cost of course?
  15. Hi can I ask you where else you applied and what made you choose NYU? I have a friend there now and she says that the extra $40,000 isn't really worth it and that the student body is very big and they are very inflexible about your schedule... she's only one person and not a bsn rn yet so i just want to know what you heard and if nyu holds more weight in the medical world?
