Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing Nurse Anesthesia Program - 2025
Just interviewed 1/8 I attended both in person advising sessions. I believe interviews are near the end, based off this thread saying some were interviewed in December. A women at the interview told me they only interview 60 people in total. I heard there were between 400-550 applications from a faculty member I worked with although I am not sure how true any of that anecdotal information is. Questions were mostly EQ with some light clinical questioning relevant to your background. It was a panel/round table style. Friendly and welcoming environment - light breakfast was served prior to interview as well as a brief powerpoint on the history of Bellevue and Hunter College. Most of us who were just waiting chatted about how crazy other institutions interviews were apparently like such as Rutgers, LOL My stats were MSN-ED 3.81, BSN 3.5, CCRN, PCCN, CMC, TNCC, ACLS and BLS Instructor. 3 years experience with 2 of ICU, 1 of cardiac stepdown. Mix of MICU/CCU/SICU with hearts. Also Rapid Response. On Code Committee and charge trained as you can imagine. Also educator experience teaching here and there. Did mark on resume I was with diversity CRNA. I assume we will all hear decisions back probably around end of the month. Please let us know when you hear back about a decision here LOL

Stony Brook BSN 2019-2021
For some reason, some group sizes are 6. But Jake is correct and its basically only groups of either 6 or 8. One thing worth noting is that you can expect to spend close to if not over a grand on textbooks, scrubs and other equipment like stethoscope and a mandatory nursing kit for lab simulations. It's worth having a car, although not mandatory since chances are at least a few people in your group will have a car. Just make sure to be nice to them for driving you around everywhere if you don't got one and DONT BE LATE.

My recruiter told me I will likely get a decision sometime October or November. If accepted into the two year program I would just swear in ASAP (Probably December or January) and start receiving the stipend then. My nursing program started August 2019 and runs until May 2021. I was also told you can only apply for one program - either/or. If you get rejected then you are simply rejected, even if there are 1 year spots open.

Im praying...fingers crossed! Thats why I keep asking you guys since your recruiter tells you everything! My recruiter says its against policy to do so so....LOL

I'm also surprised your recruiter told you so much info. My recruiter said he can't tell me anything outside that I did well. He can't tell me scores for interviews and he didnt get his hands on any of the hard numbers or whatnot according to him.

Do let us know the number of applicants for 1/2 year in relevance for spots! Could you ask your recruiter more about how they select and the average GPA of applicants?
-
Nurse Candidate Program and DUINS (Navy)
Wow! What state are you in? In from NY, so I imagine there will be a few more. Did you ask your recruiter?

Did anyone ever manage to find a number on how many people applied to the two year program? My package just cleared MEPS and got submitted to the operations officer. Anyone have an ETA on when we will get a decision too?

I heard from my recruiter that at least for my region, they extended the deadlines till the 15th of September. (NYC area) When does your program begin? I also anticipate graduating May 2021, but my program has already begun this August.

If you do find out, do let us know! I feel like many people would apply for the two year to be honest, and that there are more spots for 1 year due to the ability for the navy to successfully predict future openings and fiscal capabilities. My background - I only just turned 21, 3.4 GPA completing a dual degree in sociology. Work as a resident assistant and lifeguard and have been lifeguarding and teaching swim instruction for several years now. Volunteered at a vet's home for a bit as a PT/OT assistant too and did relatively well on my interviews too I believe.

Thats actually super disappointing to hear since I just submitted my package for the 2 year program. What are your grades and other aspects of your package like? I just wanna see what other candidates have in terms of their package. I only had a 3.4 GPA
