  1. Only thing is that most of these schools such as UFV and CNC only take grade 11 math...
  2. Thank you so much this was very helpful! I was wondering did you take Foundations Math 11 before taking Foundations 12?
  3. Congratulations to everyone that got in!! For clarification, for those that got in, all of you applied with straight As and healthcare experience?
  4. Do they take your mixed final grade for English 12 with the provincial exam or without?
  5. What's the CASPer exam like? Any tips?
  6. Is anybody applying to the Nursing program at BCIT? Please discuss what type of marks you will be applying with and any other experience you'll be including with your application Also, how is the Casper examination? Whats that process like?
  7. Also, what kind of grades did you have when applying to both schools with your high school marks and pre-requisites, if you don't mind sharing. Any other experience that you may have had which made you stand out?
  8. Ok sounds good I will definitely look into applying to both schools for the next intake. Congratulations for getting accepted! ?
  9. Is there still chances of getting in if you don't already hold a degree from a recognized university? What kind of grades did most of you have in each pre-requisite? I have mostly B's in mine. I also have a lot of work experience as an HCA for over 2 years now so I'm wondering if that would be good enough?
  10. For BCIT I have heard that it's close to impossible to get in if you don't already hold a bachelors in something because it is that competitive. It was initially my 1st choice because it has a great nursing program and it close to home but because of that and the fact that I still have AP 2 to get through, I haven't applied there. For Langara, I have talked to the advisers and I know some people who have applied and are on waitlists that are going for as long as 3-4 years. However, for September I will have more choices because of all these schools outside of the province and city too that don't have wait lists so theres higher chances of getting in.
  11. That really sucks if they're taking the blended grade because just like one of you mentioned, the provincial also brought me from an 86 to a 74. The rest of the classes I had high B's in as well but I still applied just for the sake of it. I am planning to retake most of them to use in the next intake if I don't get in which I feel I won't based off of competition; however, I am taking AP 2 next semester which may make it difficult to do so. Have any of you applied anywhere else? I feel like most schools only have intakes for September.
  12. Yes that is true! They do only take which ever mark is higher for your English. Talked to an adviser specifically for clarification on this. Good luck everyone! :)
  13. Thanks for the suggestion. I definitely will look into it.
  14. I was wondering if the Nursing program is a collaboration where the first two years are done at CNC and the last two at UNBC? Is there no fast track option at all especially if you've taken some courses already such as A&P, Psych, Stats, as well as a care aide program? Also, has anyone applied? What is a good enough GPA to apply with for high school courses?
  15. I will talk to the adviser again to get that clarified. And yes, I don't think so either. At this point I'd just love to get into a nursing program regardless of where it is.
  16. Received two offers from UFV that is? I'm so stressed out because my grades aren't the best and most of the schools that I do have more chances of getting into are so far away from home... I was hoping for UFV but like Adelinna mentioned as well, 1 A and 3 high B's probably won't be enough to get in. So far Im upgrading only one of the 3 courses I received a B in so will still trying applying for Jan 2020.
  17. Increase peoples B's to A's or A-'s? How does that work? I have high B's in 2 of the courses but when I spoke to the adviser she hadn't mentioned anything like that?
  18. Math is one of my worst subjects in school and I am kind of worried about the amount of math that I will need to know and be doing at the job site
  19. Do you think these grades are good enough to apply into the Bachelors of Science in Nursing program at UFV for the winter 2020 semester? Chemistry 11: B Biology 12: B English 12: A Pre-Calculus 11: B I did speak to an adviser and she had suggested I retake one course for 2 A's and 2 B's but I am trying to get done with some classes prior to getting into the program such as Anatomy and Physiology which is priority. I am trying my best in the course Im retaking (math) but its not my best subject. Any suggestions?
  20. Registered Care Aide. I will be applying around the end of July because I needed to upgrade one of my high school courses.
  21. I had to withdraw from A and P when I first took it in the fall semester of 2018 due to a tragic family event occurring. I retook it for this semester and am currently stuck at a D. I emailed the head department but they told me I would need to wait a whole year in order to take it again unless I took this General Biology course in the summer semester. However, if I do that, it's like a waste of 500 bucks and as well as time to finish A and P before I possibly start my nursing program in January 2020 at UFV which only requires high school classes as prereqs for applying. I don't want to have to take A and P as a part of the nursing program once Im enrolled as that will be too much for one semester alongside 3-4 other courses. I was hoping to take it at VCC but they require a C+ in Biology 11 as a prereq for this course and I had a C. Any advice, suggestions?
  22. I will be applying into the Bachelors of Science in Nursing program at UFV for January 2020 Intake. Currently have A-English B-Bio B-Chem and a B-Math of which math I will be upgrading this summer to an A, hopefully. I am also a RCA and have a lot of volunteer experience as well in the health care field Would this be a strong enough application? Also, if anyone has experienced the information session or interview please do mention how it works and if there's any way to prepare or sort of get a better idea on what they're expecting.
