UCF traditional bsn 2020
Personally, I did not work my first year because it does get overwhelming. I do know other students who did work 3-5 days and they manage their time efficiently and pass with very high test grades. I keep my notes in a binder for each class and combined lecture and lab into one. What you learn in lecture will be applied to lab and clinicals, so it’s never separate. Most of the lab work are submitted online and for clinicals I just used a folder to store my finished assignments. Big tip, organize your files into folders. Had about 20 powerpoint presentations for my Adult 1 exam, that can become unorganized real quick, thus increasing stress. Oh p.s become friends with the seniors in your campus. They will 100% give you free pdf files to the textbooks, will save you hundreds of dollars. If you don’t mind not having a physical copy ofc.

Typically, you have classes Monday's and Wednesday’s then labs. In Cocoa, they’re pretty generous with your schedule, they will not give you two long days. My schedule was typically 8am-4pm on those days. Labs were fun, they teach you skills, injections, assessments, foleys (fun). For the first semester, they will not throw you in the deep end for clinicals. Essentially, you have HPAL clinicals (community health) and then 10 8-hour shifts of long term care (for essentials). Long term care for us were five weeks, Thursday and Friday during the second half of the semester. You will not go into a hospital setting until Adult 1, Spring semester. Bummed we couldn’t finish, I do miss seeing patients ?

UCF traditional bsn 2020
Hey y’all, First congratulations to all! I’m a junior nursing student at the Cocoa campus. I couldn’t help but comment, students who were waitlisted through the regional campuses have a good chance of getting off the waitlist. Some people in my cohort were accepted from the waitlist, so keep your hopes up! If anyone has questions about the curriculum, clinicals, labs, schedule, I’ll try to answer it based on what we do in Cocoa, (might be the same for Orlando/Daytona).

Hey, there's a Cocoa Groupme. There's 15 of us from the program, do you want to join?

I don't think there is, but I'm assuming the course names are labeled differently, so you have to make sure the courses you took align with the requirements. I would suggest talking to a nursing adviser .

The Meet and Greet is not mandatory, only the orientation a week before classes start. I’ll most likely go if it doesn’t conflict with my vacations plans.

I’m attending Cocoa! I checked Facebook, class of 2019 had their orientation a week before class started. I’m assumming ours will be around that time.

Not sure about orientation, MoA should be sent in 1-2 weeks. I already planned vacation to New York a month ago (non-refundable) so I’m praying orientation starts August.

They would send the MoA in 1-2 weeks.

If you accepted your position at Daytona, then they'll remove you from the waitlist at Cocoa

Great! You can email me and I’ll send you my phone number so we can discuss further. If you find a 3/2 or 4 bedroom house, the rent might be cheaper per person. No rush though, the availablly of the places might not be there for August. I’ll start looking around July. [email protected]

Yeah, I been looking at apartments and houses in the area. I saw houses 3/2 or 4/2 for a reasonable price. I don't mind couples, I lived with a couple for two years. So if you need a roommate, I wouldn't mind!

As long as your background checks are clean and your fingerprints were submitted by the deadline, then I wouldn't worry ?
-
UCF traditional BSN 2019
I do not think so, but the guy at the UPS Store told me that the fingerprints are immediately sent, possibly received as well. If you're unsure, then I'll call

Yup! The waiver was completed a day later. I already finished all the background checks and fingerprints.
