  1. I'm a current OR resident.. and you'll be on a different structure than any other unit.... it's best to ask Barbara or other OR nurses. You can message me if you want to. Congrats ?
  2. I'm a Feb 2022 resident and an internal hire.... I'm guaranteed hours (compared to other hospitals that will send you home for low census)... I also enjoy my Free health insurance (cheaper affordable price if you have family or children under you). When pandemic hit we still had our hours and our hospital didn't fire or lay off ANYONE. Baylor and lots of other hospitals let go/cut a lot of their employees.
  3. I did but I just got offered another OR position at another hospital. I’m a current employee. Did you have questions ?
  4. I highly doubt you’re going to get a response. We’re all Competing for the same slots as you. Just sayin. LOL. ?
  5. what units did you get offers on? all at the same location?
  6. There’s 4 spots for ICU
  7. When did / are they going to send you a physical contract to sign?
  8. They’re interviewing for two weeks. Talk about a long wait ?‍?
  9. So my manager said they’re done hiring Peds (I work Peds). They accepted 8 gen and 4 PICU. Unless someone declines.
  10. my recruiter asked for me to pick a date between Sept 27-October 7, so I think they're doing interviews for 2 weeks
  11. I'll ask for a couple days to talk over it with my family before making a decision and at my other interview (I also work there) I'll be honest and respectful and ask about when will I hear anything because I have another offer.
  12. I'm an employee so my pay will be different but nothing has been discussed... I'm suppose to set up an appointment to discuss details. But I also have another interview next week for another hospital.
  13. What exactly is ambulatory? LOL I was wondering what that was.
  14. My classmate got an email during clinicals yesterday, I received my email at like 10pm last night.
  15. External candidates meaning you're paid a flat stipend rate. traditional is internal employees who are paid by hour.
  16. They pay $1200 every 2 weeks for Stipend Residents, Traditional Residents are paid regular hourly (I think the regular $27.)
  17. I got an interview for OR and my classmate got an interview in ER
  18. Did your recruiter send you a preparation email? Mine sent me one and it was full of great stuff, but I didn't apply to work on my own unit. I got an interview in another specialty.
  19. 350 applicants total?? so 200 applicants applied for ICU and the other 150 applied else where?
  20. I work at MCCH, they're doing interviews Tuesday for PICU and Gen Peds.
  21. I applied when it opened, on the 3rd.
