  1. Sorry I’ve been off this site for quite some time.. I finished the BSN & MSN-FNP through Purdue Global. I passed the AANP board exam immediately afterwards. Personally the program was great for me. I previously had a background prior to attending, so to me, the information wasn’t too strenuous. However, I have had colleagues struggle with the board and some courses. if you are able to study, do the work that is asked, and are pretty decent at online learning you should do fine in this program.. if you need a lot of direction, I’d suggest going to a brick and mortar school. The flexibility in this program is what I was looking for. during your clinicals, choose locations that will challenge you and make you work . Don’t get short changed by choosing easy rotations, you’ll regret it when you get into practice. lastly, I have not had an issue getting a job or job offers. Haven’t had anyone directly bring down the school because it’s online, but I’m sure that exists. Main thing, pass your board, feel confident and have a good bedside manner and most employers will feel confident in hiring you. Hope this helps.
  2. Let's just talk about facts, since it seems everyone wants to jump to conclusions without knowing all the information about how you tested for amphetamines... So to answer your question, you can get a false positive from supplements, medications, herbs, etc.. However, the 10 or 12 panel drug test, tests for both substance containing amphetamines/methamphetamine and also its metabolites. If you test positive for the first portion of the test (immunoassay), amphetamines/methamphetamine are within the cutoff level, it will then be retested for metabolites (Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry). The metabolites is how they confirm the positive reading. If the metabolites are are positive cut off level on confirmation study, these specific metabolites can be identified, quantified and reported for a positive test result. Your second question: The second test is to confirm, it is performed prior to getting back results of the first test. You only get results from the first test if you are negative. If you test positive, automatically the second is performed, then you are notified. Also, this "possible" adderall intake would have to be ingested within 72 hours to get a positive read, unless it had been taken multiple times or at high doses, then it could last in your system for 5-7 days.
  3. Hello, I completed the RN-BSN program (exceltrack) and currently in the MSN-FNP program (exceltrack). The coursework is manageable with full time work and the ability to go at your own pace is a massive bonus. I had quite a bit of transfer credits into the RN-BSN but I finished it under a year.. The MSN is only Exceltrack for the core courses, 6 total .. The rest, which are specialty courses (FNP) are regular pace. 2 courses per 10 weeks and a total of 12. That being said.. you have 6 courses at exceltrack, then you have 12 courses 2 per 10 weeks, so its a 60 weeks of school plus a week break between. So the fastest you can finish the program is 6 core classes (exceltrack) + 66 weeks (specialty courses & breaks). Also, the courses are very paper writing heavy.. APA guidelines for every paper. I am happy I went with Purdue Global. I wanted something I could speed up or slow down and it is affordable. Hope this helps.
