Att for December graduates
In Texas you can go to https://txbn.boardsofnursing.org/licenselookup and get your GN permit information with just your name and which license you applied for (RN or LVN/LPN). Other states may have a similar look up system. Exploring your states BON website may be helpful.

Baylor Scott White GN Residency Internship - Winter 2021 Cohort
I just accepted an acute care position at the Round Rock location! Apparently, across the board they have a pretty good reputation for getting back to their candidates within a day or two after the live interview. Good luck everyone! If you get a live interview remember to prepared and be confident. You got this! ?

Baylor Scott White GN Residency Internship - Winter 2021 Cohort
The phone screen is just to confirm where you got your nursing degree, what your GPA is/was, location preference, specialty preference and if you have any certifications. It's also a good time to ask when they plan to send out live interview invites for your region, and any other questions about the process or position you may have!

Practice before hand! I won't disclose the questions out of fairness to other applicants who didn't know them in advance, but if you Google common nursing interview questions and get pretty comfortable your answers to a few of those then you should be able to answer the ones in the video interview no problem! Remember the most important thing is to be yourself!

Baylor Scott White GN Residency Internship - Winter 2021 Cohort
I had my phone screening for Round Rock and Lakeway a few days ago. It was basically confirming where you got your nursing degree, what your GPA is/was, location preference, specialty preference and if you have any certifications. He also offered to answer any questions I had. He also mentioned that invitations to do the live video interviews with the hiring managers in the ATX region will go out mid October.

Seton Medical Center Nurse Residency 2020
I'm in my final semester of nursing school now and have been interested in applying to the AS residency program. However the link to submit an interest form is no longer active. I'm also having a difficult time finding who to contact about the program still being offered. Would y'all happen to know who I might be able to get this information from?

UTMB FALL 2019
New student orientation for fall start BSN students is August 26. The May date is for summer start. If you applied for summer start there is a different thread for that. Also keep in mind the first round of acceptances have to make a decision by tomorrow, so they will probably start pulling from the waitlist soon!

UTMB FALL 2019
I know several people accepted in the first round (including myself) that don't qualify for the honors program. Stats are important but from what I've seen they aren't a reliable way to determine what your admissions status may be. What ever the process is, I hope y'all hear back soon!

Looking for advice on starting my nursing career.
Hello all! I am currently a pre-nursing student finishing up a Bachelors degree in Community Health (this degree qualifies me to earn a health education specialist certification). Last week I was officially accepted to my dream accelerated BSN program! I will graduate with my Community Health degree in May and start my BSN in late August. I have three years of experience as a personal care provider (2 years with a quadriplegic woman, and one year with a boy with Dravet syndrome). Additionally, I will be working as a lifeguard this summer, but that's more patron surveillance than it is providing aid. I would love to gain some clinical experience before/during my BSN program. I regret not becoming a CNA or a Patient Care Tech while I was in school for my Community Health degree, but it is what it is. I have some health care experience, and I've talked to many individuals in the nursing profession, but I know there's a lot I don't know or understand yet. I've considered volunteering, shadowing, finding a relevant job...but I'm not sure what the best option would be right now. So here are my questions to you: What experience did you have before landing your first nursing job (including previous jobs and education)? Are there any jobs or experiences you suggest I pursue this summer or while I'm in school getting my BSN? Any and all advice is welcomed! Thank you!

Options other than the bedside
You could try public health nursing! State governments are good places to find public health nursing jobs. Usually the benefits are pretty good too. https://www.apha.org/-/media/files/pdf/membergroups/phn/nursingdefinition.ashx?la=en&hash=331DBEC4B79E0C0B8C644BF2BEA571249F8717A0

So who's starting the Facebook page? I would volunteer, but I'm not really social media savvy.
