  1. @anniezenin it's [email protected] ? The college of nursing just emailed us an info packet with a link to our BSN-IH facebook group, too!
  2. @anniezenin I would LOVE to meet other students before the program starts!! I'm planning on accepting the offer at UofA! I got into ASU's nursing program as well, but I'm going to withdraw my acceptance at ASU as soon as UofA emails us the BSN-IH acceptance packet and I can finalize my spot (hopefully this week!) ?
  3. You’re welcome!! I was accepted for Fall 2019 ?
  4. You'll do great!! The HESI carries the same weight in our admittance score as our cumulative GPA (20%). So if you don't have the greatest GPA or HESI score, you can offset that with doing better in one of the other areas ? Best wishes!!
  5. I got into UofA's BSN-IH program, as well! I was also concerned about the online classes / in-person clinical skills components, as online courses for a BSN program may be difficult. However, most nursing programs are transitioning and adopting online class components because of the demand for online learning. UofA's regular BSN program has some online-only nursing classes, too. I don't think this will make a difference to grad schools given the great reputation of UofA's nursing programs. It will probably come down to how well we are able to tackle the online classes and integrate that learning into our nursing practice. I'm thinking that the IH program may be helpful when I apply to grad schools -- they like their students to be well-rounded, and we have the advantage of having received holistic-based teaching!
  6. I applied with a 3.45 cumulative GPA, 3.91 prerequisite GPA, and a 95.5 HESI and got in. I applied last semester as well with similar stats (cum GPA a little lower, pre-req GPA the same) and interviewed, but I didn't make it in. Having the extra 24 seats with the addition of the Gilbert program is what allowed me to get in this semester, I believe. The interview is fairly easy! The questions are pretty general: - tell me about yourself / why are you interested in nursing / what is something about yourself that you want the College of Nursing to know - behavioral questions such as: if you had a friend in the program that was cheating on exams / abusing drugs / abusing alcohol, etc. how would you address the problem? - what are the most important attributes a nurse should possess and why? - tell us about some experiences you've had that have exposed you to the type of diverse populations that you will encounter in nursing You will be interviewing with one other student and two CON faculty. They will take turns asking you and your partner questions. Just be yourself and be confident in your experiences and abilities! I based my answers largely on my experiences & beliefs and how this will contribute to optimal patient care. Good luck!!
  7. I got into the BSN-IH program in Gilbert!! Have you heard back yet???
  8. Yay CONGRATS!! I'm completing the Castlebranch requirements too right now in case I end up starting ASU's program. So exciting, congratulations to everyone who made it into the clinical program! ❤️
  9. I interviewed with them today and should hear back by the end of the week! Your advancement score is super high, I'm VERY surprised that you're on the waitlist... you must be at the top of it. I'm sure you will get in to either the summer or fall program, there's always someone who drops their spot (potentially me haha) or can't make the health requirement deadlines! People get into ASU and UofA's programs from the waitlist every semester so I'm sure you'll get a spot ?
  10. Me too! I was placed in the summer program as well ? I’m still waiting to hear back from UofA’s program, as that one is my first choice, but if I don’t get in to that one then I’m excited to start at ASU in May!
  11. I also applied for both as well, but I marked my preference as the BSN-IH! Did you receive an interview? I got my interview email on Friday ?
  12. That's exactly what I've heard, too, @GBar. I read on one of these forums from a couple years ago that advancement notices went out in April due to administration changes, so I'm hoping that CONHI is able to stick to this year's mid-March deadline. ASU also does not have a Mayo Clinic cohort this year, so that may save the college some decision time. You have a great advancement score, and I'm confident you'll get into your first choice cohort!
  13. I've been looking everywhere for a University of Arizona BSN thread and haven't been able to find one, so I'm making this! Any applicants for UofA's BSN or BSN-IH program for Fall 2019??
  14. @calpoppy Congratulations to you too, you'll definitely get in with a 1.88! It looks like admissions have become slightly more competitive with each cycle, so I'm expecting the cutoff score to be in the low 1.80's this time. It just comes down to whether or not we get placed in our first choice cohort! :)
  15. Hi friends! I'm applying as a competitive applicant to Arizona State University's Traditional BSN (TPCNP) program. I'm starting this thread in hopes that I can find other students currently applying, as well. My advancement score is a 1.91 with a 3.85 Select GPA and 94.7 TEAS score. Please comment below if you are applying to ASU's program or are currently in it! Good luck everyone :)
