Hey everyone! I haven't seen any forums about nurse residency programs in Chattanooga so I'd like to create one. I have accepted a position at Children's at Erlanger and I don't think that the program does anything to help nurse residents connect before actually starting working. I thought this forum could be a good way to connect and potentially find roommates and stuff! And for people working at other hospitals in the area besides Erlanger, please feel free to post as well!

How did you apply to help with COVID relief?

A recruiter came to my school for a career fair on Feb 28th, she said that most of their spots had filled and that basically if you haven't heard anything in a month then there's no spots left. I gave her my resume and followed up with an email but she was a recruiter specifically just for Universities so nothing came of it. I would say don't hold out hope they seem to hire mostly internally

That's kind of absurd since start date is July LOL.

Just got an email that I'm an alternate for peds float pool, does anybody know how long it takes to find out if you could be selected?

So all remaining interviews are through Skype now because of COVID ? I'm having a hard time adding the correct contact though! Has anyone else had this problem?

also haven't heard anything, neither have the other people in my program who have also applied, we're all external. at this point I've just kind of given up LOL, luckily I have interviews at 2 childrens hospitals in tennessee so I'm thankful for that

So I'm feeling stressed bc the only interview day the offered me didn't work for me, so I emailed back and asked if there was any other day I could possibly interview. This happened on Friday, I havent gotten an email back, so I called yesterday, didnt get an answer, so I left a voicemail. No one has gotten back to me about anything? It's starting to stress me out and IDK if I should call or email again? I don't want to be annoying IDK

For those of you who got emails and replied with availability for interviews, did you receive a confirmation yet of when your interview is? And if you did how long did that take?

Mine was for peds float pool, they only gave me an option for one day but I imagine that is not a lot of people's first choice.

I don't know specific numbers but I know Centennial pays a little more and has like relocation assistance and helps with student loans. All of their benefits are very tempting but I really wanna work at Vanderbilt haha.

Hey everyone! I'm applying and my top track choice is Peds float pool! I had an externship where I was on the float staff at a big hospital where I floated to a lot of adult units, and while I loved it, I wish I could have worked with pediatric patients more often. I'm also applying to CHOA and Erlanger children's hospital in Chatt. I'm thinking of applying to Tristar Centennial Children's as well bc of their loan repayment program and bc they pay a little better, but I'm trying not to let money influence my decisions too much, because working somewhere where people are nice and truly care about their jobs and are willing to teach me is really important to me as well haha.

for those of you who have been hired can you kind of outline your timeline of the interview process? I just applied on 12/29 and completed my digital interview today and just would like to know what to expect!

Did you guys include a cover letter? I can't decide if I feel it's necessary or not
