Baylor Scott and White Residency Summer 2021
This was some of the information I got from the Q&A web ex that was held yesterday. I had my phone interview with a different recruiter who was from the Austin area. The phone interview I had was just confirming my GPA and the areas I applied to. He did tell me that interviews with the hiring managers don't take place until March ?

I'm so sorry it was yesterday at 2:30. It was the recruiter for Dallas area that was answering questions. He said that for Dallas area they are still going through applications and it may take up to 3 weeks to get a phone interview. I think he said that they received approximately 1600 applications for all of TX so far. He was talking about how each hiring manager wants a certain applicant with particular characteristics. So one manager may want an applicant that's super sweet, and another may want an applicant that can handle the pressure of their particular unit. So it's kind of hard to say what each unit manager is looking for because they are all looking for different things. However, he did say one thing that all of them look for is someone who is nice.

Baylor Scott and White Residency Summer 2021
OMG!! How exciting! Thank you for letting us know! ? I was planning on doing my digital interview tonight I'm just nervous! I'm in Austin area and want to specialize in critical care too! I'm curious on how we apply for the residency specialty we want to be in, I didn't see an option to choose when I completed my application

I live in Austin. I picked all surrounding areas here, but I think I would rather go to Taylor, because I just remember when I had clinicals there I had such a great experience. All the nurses I precepted with overnight were really so kind. The only thing is, I don't know if there is an option to do a critical care residency at that location. What's yours?

TAMUCC ELINE BSN SPRING 2020
I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this! Soooooo I ended up buying the polo but it is not really required for e-line I wore it like once when I went to check off weekend but it wasn't required. Also, the sizes for the scrubs are all off I bought a medium and it fits like a XXL I should have got an Xtra small. I normally wear a medium I'm 138 pounds and 5"4 but the for the scrubs they run really really big. And yes you do need to have a badge because you have to wear it to check off weekend and also clinicals :)

So it’s a pretty hard adjustment with the overwhelming amount of course work. They front load fundamentals and health assessment so it’s pretty accelerated and hard to keep up with assignments and studying and practicing skills but everyone finds out what works best for them. I preferred reading the actual book when it came to fundamentals but you have sooooooo many resources so everyone studies different things. You get a lot of equipment when you go to orientation to practice skills, however it was hard for me to even find the time to practice skills as much as I would have liked to. You get more practice with skills during clinicals. I love my cohort we all help each other out and remind each other of upcoming assignments. We have a group text that we all communicate through. You will get to meet your cohort during orientation so hopefully you guys can start a group text or something because that’s literally a life saver. I definitely wish I could have performed better this semester but it was a very hard adjustment for me especially with how the test are. It’s not black and white it’s very gray and you pretty much have to put together everything you read and learn to formulate what you would do as a nursing priority. I’m still struggling trying to master these kinds of questions. Overall I’m enjoying the program it is challenging and I have had to drastically reduce my hours at work to keep up with the course load. But that’s just me there are still people in my cohort who work full time and have other responsibilities and still maintain the course load.

Yeah I can say that the waiting process was the most stressful part for me. Even though I didn’t have to worry about any deadlines and everything was in, I felt like I couldn’t concentrate on life until I found out lol. Plus I had gotten a denial letter from one of the schools I applied to so I was really stressed to say the least. They might go through the applications for a decision soon after Oct. 4th. I spent a lot of time with my family and friends to help take my mind off the waiting and I feel like that helped me a little bit. Not a lot but a little bit lol. It’s good that you talked to Johanna she is honestly one of the best people you will meet she works with all of the nursing students to make sure we are all successful. She’s like the mentor for all of us. I hope you guys find out soon❤️
