  1. I feel a little defeated too. ? I have a 3.72 GPA (BSN), 3.23 (ADN), experience in STICU, MICU, CTICU, and CVICU. I volunteer, have my CCRN, CSC, CMC, TNCC, ACLS, and BLS. I've precepted in all my facilities, on the code team, rapid response team, unit based counsel, skin care team, etc. I must have written an AWFUL personal statement.
  2. First off, good on you for getting your life together! For some of us, that didn't happen right away! Secondly, always be honest. I'm not sure what you have in your past, but as long as it's not abuse, recent drug charges, maintaining a drug trafficking place, etc. you can definitely overcome! The board may want to meet with you, or just require you to send them a detailed letter explaining your charges, and don't rush it. Spend some time making a good one, with full explanation of everything they ask for (I kept mine and used it for a few jobs even). Try to not accept a limited license right off the bat, I did and it was expensive and makes it look like I did something against my license (like stole meds from the Pyxis), though it's easily explainable. While you're in nursing school make sure to get good relationships with your program director and the instructors, their letters of recommendation carry weight. I'm now working for yet ANOTHER university hospital, in the sickest units (ICU) and applying for my doctorate, and have been accepted by more travel agencies than I can count! Don't let it deter you, good luck!
  3. Not gonna lie, I'm pretty discouraged ? This school I felt really good about.
  4. Hey man! You feel comfortable sharing your stats? I'm genuinely curious, even though I know it's a holistic approach! Feel free to say no too, I totally understand.
  5. Seems only one person in this forum has... Though I haven't even gotten an email about a virtual session. Seems kinda weird that nobody else has gotten an interview invite here.
  6. If they are only taking "top of the top" right now, then only one person in this forum got a phone call... hardly think that's the case. ? I would say they probably have a lot of apps to go through and the list is probably pretty long. I'm sure they got plenty of calling yet to do.
  7. Congratulations man! Haven't heard anything yet myself, but fingers crossed!
  8. I don't mind. So, my BSN GPA was 3.72. My experience is 1.5 years MICU, 1.5 STICU (Concurrent), and 1.5 years CTICU (Current). I was wound care and code committee (MICU/STICU), Unit Based Council (CTICU), Preceptor (All), volunteer experience in an equine therapy barn for kids with sensory deficits and adults with disabilities, and I have 12 hours of CRNA shadowing. I have my CCRN, CSC, CMC, and TNCC as well for certifications. I did not take the GRE.
  9. I tried to keep it as short as possible, and I even had a bunch of my coworkers and CRNA's read it to make sure they didn't "lose interest" halfway through. ? That was my biggest concern with the length of it. Every other one I'd written was one page, so writing this one felt so wrong!
  10. I think my personal statement ended up being 4 pages. I used transitions for each question and felt I was concise and thorough.
  11. Nice! Did they ever discuss the application process, what the school seemed to key in on in terms of applicants, or how they are liking the program?
  12. Did you apply this year or did you get accepted last year?
  13. Well, good luck to everyone! It'll be a tough selection but everyone deserves to be there! I was reading last year and it seems interview calls came out around late March.
  14. Well, the deed is done! I applied and will now be dying until I hear back! HAHA
