  1. heard nothing from NICU fellowship yet...kind of losing hope at this point? it still says under consideration though...anyone hear back anything?
  2. Yes I totally agree! In nursing school we only had 8hr clinical and we didn’t had to any true hard work done by real nurses, we just observed and it seemed like fun! But now I am an RN I know there is so much work & planning that goes behind the scene
  3. Hi! For those of u that got in, what we’re your experiences, credentials and grades? And what do u feel made u stood out? thank you! It would be ver helpful! I am applying next year ?
  4. WOW! 10 years later...how are you doing? just wondering which hospital had a year long nicu internship? now is only 2 months...I feel unprepared...
  5. Hi fellow nurses! Im just curious if your NP school admission process changed during this year? like omit certain test criteria or something? If you were admitted into a fall 2020 program are you worried about clinical sites and classes being all online? Have schools addressed this issue yet? or everyone is just waiting it out? Thank you!
  6. old thread I see! 10 years later... but very similar to my situation now... I was a peds home care nurse transitioned to a NICU but didn't survive orientation either? I feel like a failure since all the others survived orientation....not sure if OP ever found another NICU job?
  7. reading this makes me anxious....I feel the same as if I don't belong in the acute care world....
  8. Hi everyone! I applied to the NICU fellowship program! I applied last round to multi-specialty, but did not get in, hopefully I will get it this time. Best of luck to everyone!
  9. Wow thank you for your words of encouragement! I hope I can make someone feel like home too!!! Thank you!!!
  10. I never ended up receiving a email for invite to interview so I took another job in my dream unit NICU! Although it’s not a children’s hospital I think it’ll still be a good experience! Good luck to you guys!
  11. Today is the last day they will send out invites for interview. Good luck!
  12. Omg glad to find someone in the same boat as me! Hopefully we get in together!
  13. Hi fellow nurses! I am Sherry and I applied to the CHOC fellowship for multi specialty area recently & was just wondering if anyone else has applied for it too? i graduated in May 2017 so technically I’m not considered a new grad, but I’ve never actually worked in an acute care as a RN, only outpatient. so technically I’m a stale new grad? it’s super difficult to make it in the hospital w/o acute care experience, so I decided to apply to the fellowship! wondering if anyone is on the same boat?
  14. Aw me too! I wish we knew why...I thought I would definitely get in...guess it’s very competitive!
