Leaving Your Job Due to Mandate
I was not happy about it, but I respect that they are trying to avoid another disaster ?. Most employers in my State (NY), will be/ are requiring the vaccine for new hires as well and now that Pfizer is fully approved many more states and companies will follow suit. Leaving my job is not an option for me, I am a nursing student and the bills still have to get paid, plus most nursing programs want vaccines in order to do clinical. I do not think it sounds good explaining to a new employer that I quit my previous job in Healthcare because of vaccine mandates.

Monroe College Bachelors of nursing program
You are allowed to order pants, sneakers/shoes, or anything that does not require a logo elsewhere. FYI! I felt the shirts ran a little big.

Thanks for the info. I feel the same way as far as being able to pay my bills. I will be taking Fundamentals and pharmacology/dosage How is the exams do you find they are structured to what you have studied? also did you go to clinical sites if so was it nursing homes or hospitals and did you have a stethoscope? What advice if any would you say is the most important to know or do regarding attending this program? Sorry for the ton of questions, just seem so lost not knowing the structure of this school's program. Thanks again.

There's a few other students on the Monroe college's page on this site. Some are from the Fall 2020 semester and 1 or 2 are from ours. I actually used a passport photo app and submitted my photo to be mailed since I live in Brooklyn. I opted for the Littman III , I wanted the Cardio IV, but my mate didn't like the reviews that stated a lot of people were losing their diaphragms. I also picked up a pen light and scissors. The other stuff was strictly for studying (pens, index cards, paper, etc). Also I found this site that gave me a free book download code for pdf nursing books some are up to date and some are like last year's or older, you might can find something useful. Website: emedbooks.net , I don't know if the code will work, but give it a try FREE100 (I wouldn't trust spending money with them though).

My BLS is still good until October 2021. I had a physical already with my Physician, but she's booked until February (I had to go to urgent care to have the forms filled). I did everything else on the checklist, besides the drug test (my appt is at 2pm). Yes! I can't wait to sit down and decorate my journal (I love crafts). My mate purchased my stethoscope as a gift, along with other supplies. If I do not use it, at least I'll have it for a just in case moment or when we do start officially working. If you're thinking about getting one get it, you'll need eventually. On another note, I was hoping to hear how the other students from Fall 2020 is surviving their first semester, and to get a few pointers. Once we do our orientation we should see if some of the others want to do a facebook page or another method to keep in contact for support.

I guess it depends on where you live, I know the clinics in Brooklyn wanted the drug testing form e-passport form. My primary was booked until February, besides I just had a physical done a couple of months ago. Since you are finishing up your semester how is it so far? Are you able to work? I am a Patient tech in the hospital and want to keep my job since I don't have financial aid?

Yes, I received it yesterday afternoon (I just have to do the drug screening tomorrow or Saturday). I am excited too ? I am about to make a bullet journal, since I am a newbie I got carried away with the supplies?

I am almost finished as well. I am getting mines done hopefully with lab Corp, if you live near the school you can pay $40 for the drug screening form and have it done at lab Corp. I just have to get the liability insurance and apply to the NSNA. I am at the clinic now getting my physical.

The lady that you called she is super helpful, plus you can reach out to the admissions advisor too. Helene fuld school of nursing generic BSN program is open for Fall 21, You should call them. Even though I was accepted to Monroe and another school I still applied to H.F. as well. They accept the TEAS exam, but you have to take it with them.

Oh! mine's was on zoom. it was a surprise, because I actually thought I missed the deadline and then one day I got the email for an interview at the very last minute. I would reach out and ask more questions to get a better clarity of what is going on. Also, did you apply to other schools, or is interested in applying?

It's okay to post dates, they just don't like us posting names of school representatives on here. The anticipated date on mine's 8/2022, I was assuming it would've been 1/22-2/22 (the latest). I planned to reach out on Monday as well. Like you stated we transferred in a ton of credits. Thanks for the information/tips about the bullet Journaling? OMG! why are they taking so long? Were you interviewed via zoom or phone?

I would also like to try bullet journaling, I was looking at videos on it (looks very interesting). On another note I was expecting the anticipated end date to be a little sooner than what was posted on the schedule?

Yes,that's what I was told by the pleasant lady who sent our schedules (don't want to post her name, due to terms of service). She stated white scrub bottoms and footwear from any where. I guess it's because those are the only items without the school's logo.

I was told that the clinical instructor would be reaching out to us (more than likely next month) with information about what is needed, and we'll be having an orientation as well. I purchased a lot of pens, highlighters, paper basic stuff that I know we're going need regardless if we're in person or remote. Staples had colorful stackable crates last week for $5 I purchased a few of those to store my items in. Also, invest in a planner. A few months back I purchased a dry erase calendar from staples that was one of the best investments I made ☺.

Mine is finally done too! I am kinda glad that it's only one class next semester, because that'll allow me to hopefully put in extra time at work or catch up on life ?. If I don't get my union to pay for the class, then I am paying out of pocket for next semester. Yes! that would've been great to finish early? I don't mind the questions. Everything just happened so fast, and I went in overkill asking them questions ?. As far as the shirts I believe there is only one style. When I went to the store, I told them the school and program. I purchased 3 shirts , 1 warm up jacket and 1 fleece. The shirts are 2 pocket v-neck style w/school logo in the wine color and the warm up jacket has the logo on it as well same color. The fleece has logo as well dark blue color. I was told by the store we have a choice between the warm up jacket or the fleece, I just choose to buy both. What the store told me is : LPN program color is Wine colored tops RN program Blue tops BSN program White tops All programs wear the same fleece jacket and white scrub bottoms. They do sell white scrub bottoms as well. I know I was asked if I need a lab coat, I declined because I have one from A&P, however I was told that the school's logo is on the coat too. I will follow-up with the nursing department. I have the price list for them, I don't know if all locations are the same (I went to the Brooklyn store). top- Axs- Axl= $ 20.48 scrub jacket = same sizes = $ 23.85 Full zip Navy Fleece $ 45.23 (pricy, but I am using for each program) lab coat = $28.13 pants Cargo range from 15.08- 17.78 drawstring pants from 14.18-16.88 They have sneakers listed for 57.60 , didn't see them in person (wasn't interested ?).

Okay?. The person you spoke to did you ask if their is an issue with your application? Hopefully, you'll hear something at least before Thanksgiving(that'll be something to give thanks about).?

I was hoping to be full-time as well? They would not add the extra course, because I guess they go in sequence(I wanted micro as well). I am trying to reduce my expenses, I only have loans, moving forward I can get my union to pay for my classes. Hopefully that can save me some money ?. Also for the Spring semester I am only taking Maternal child, how about you? I actually ordered my uniform tops at Flynn o' Hara this past weekend, I went into the store(glad I did),they were extremely helpful. I felt that the uniform tops run a little big, just in case you are deciding to order from their website. I still haven't shopped for sneakers/shoes or scrub pants. I am looking into all white adidas ultraboost/bounce sneakers, I work on a Med Surge unit and those are so comfortable.

Normally they say to wait 2 weeks. One of the other schools that I got accepted to, had me wait two months for my acceptance letter,(that was a killer). Did you ask if your application is on hold or is it just still in the review stage?
