I just completed mine. I also called admissions and they said you MUST send all your transcripts to the University (Schmitz Hall 1410 NE Campus Parkway Box 355852 Seattle, WA 98195-5852) even though we submitted them electronically for the ABSN application. I was told on the day of the proctored essay that once you are admitted to the ABSN program, your chance of being admitted into UW is 99%. They probably just want to see your transcripts to see if everything checks off. I am so excited to be accepted into the program! Here are my stats: Undergraduate degree: BA in Gender Studies from UCLA Cumulative GPA: 3.5 (Would have been higher if I hadn't had such horrible grades from my first year of college) Prerequisites GPA: 4.0 (I took 17 prerequisite courses for various nursing programs, including pathophysiology, pharmacology, medical terminology... and was the top student in each course) Healthcare experience: ~200 hours (Certified Nursing Assistant in LTC facility) ~70 hours (Patient Ambassador volunteer at a rural community hospital) ~75 hours (Birth Doula volunteer at a public hospital in Honduras) ~120 hours (Birth and Postpartum Doula experience) ~150 hours (Various community volunteer experiences, involving women's rights and agriculture) Certifications/Licenses: (NAC, BLS Provider, HIV/AIDS Education Certificate, Child and Baby First Aid Provider, Lactation Education Counselor, Childbirth Doula) My cumulative GPA and healthcare experience hours are not stellar but I believe my selling point was my diverse life experiences. I am in my late 20s and I backpacked/traveled to over 40 countries, lived in 4 countries, speak multiple languages, worked in various fields, am passionate about integrating human rights into my career, and now that I live in the countryside of Washington I really want to contribute more to rural healthcare. I genuinely want to be a compassionate healthcare professional and bring innovative radical ideas to the field, and I think that showed in my personal statement!
