  1. I live in CT and graduated in the end of August. I wasnt able to take my boards untill the middle of Oct due to illness. I was extremely nervous and scared, even thought I'd be in there for the full 5 hours. It ended up only taking 1.5hours and I went through 85 questions and passed. Mind you I'm the worst test taker ever. My exam focused a lot on prioritizing care and also diet for different conditions. I promise it wont be as bad as it seems, just take your time and you'll be ok. Best of luck to you!
  2. Hi Nursingangel, I too just recieved my liscense 6 months ago, and am still having a hard time finding a job. I live in CT, the closest I've come to is a per-diem position in a group home. I know exactly how you feel, I'm getting frustrated also! Wish you the best of luck!
  3. Hi. I am also new to this site. I'm an LPN, I live very close to UCONN, my fiance actually attends UCONN. I have a friend who is an RN who works at Windham Hospital and she is happy there, though I'm not sure of her salary. You could also try a staffing company such as Interim or Visiting Nurses Association to try out different areas. I do know for a fact there are many job openings in the Hartford/Manchester area. You may find it helpful to try www.careerbuilder.com. They are a website for finding different jobs in different areas, I always see them posted especially for that area. Hope this info helps a little.
