Shift breaks - 8 or 10 hours??
Thanks gwenith!!! I never thought about that, just excited to have a grad position. Purplemeech I have worked full time shift work before and although late/earlys are killers i enjoy the time off it allows as gwenith said. I know if you choose 10 hours breaks, if you doing a late/early you start at 9am for early or start earlier for late , as in start at 1330.

Studying at USQ !!
I have just completed my degree at USQ (toowoomba campus). All the lecturers there are very helpful. If you nedd more information prehaps you should get in contact with the post graduate coordinator, not sure who that is, have a look on website. During my degree on different pracs, rural remote and metro, USQ has a very good reputation as producing nursing students and graduates. I have never heard of anyone having trouble with USQ students.

question re clinical skills???
Tina, I have just completed my degree at USQ and you will find that you never will ever get all those competencies marked off. They use it to make sure you somplete the clinical objectives that are set for that placement marked off. Good luck with rest of degree!!

New Grad in Australia??
This late in the year you will probably not be able to get into a grad program for the start of next year but will be able to for mid year graduate program intake. However if you will be here next year I have heard that Ipswich Hospital is still looking for grads to fill their program for next year. If your interested you'd have to ring Chris Holligum who is the prgram coordinator and talk to her about it. Hope this helps! BTW Ipswich is about 40 mins from Brisbane CBD and is serviced by buses, trains. Rent is also alot cheaper than brisbane.
