  1. Hey! I worked PRN through almost the whole program. I had classmates that worked part time +. Especially in the last semester with lectures being online I had some classmates that worked full time. Stick with the ADN program, it's doable!! The first semester might be a little challenging because that's the steepest learning curve, but just be on top of your time management and be OK with a little less sleep and you will be just fine!!
  2. I'm about to graduate from EVC (like after Monday's final). If you ever need anything feel free to reach out! [email protected] I wish I would have had someone who I knew in the program before I started, so I like to pay it forward!
  3. No worries, I remember what it's like to be in your shoes. it's stressful af! what campus are you at?
  4. For us, the clinical site instructor didn't have anything to do with the clinical clearance ticket. It's typically Sheila for EVC and Lela for CEC, not sure for round rock. But they are the ones who do all the clearance for clinical and send that out to the facilities. They do say those things and there are circumstances where you might miss being able to start the program, but for a TB result, they've typically been understanding if it's going to be a few days/ week ish later! Just depends on the circumstance and what it is. Don't be afraid to reach out to them, they're typically very understanding but obviously in the future you'll want to get it done a little sooner so you don't have to stress! You got this!
  5. Email Sheila and (or whoever your contact person is for your campus) and let them know what's going on. Communicating with them is key when it comes to CB documents and clinical requirements and them being able to extend it for certain circumstances.
  6. every unit and manager is so different! I was only the first interview for that unit! I have people in my class who are just now starting to get calls for interviews and such! I think it just depends. Have you talked to a recruiter or anything yet?
  7. I used to be the VP for ADNSA. The scrubs are donated from previous students. The school patch is definitely included, and if by chance one is missing then they are typically discounted more. But most of them have patches.
  8. Are you using this part on the website, where it says My Applications, if you click it, it should take you to the page where you can log in and see all your application statuses! I had a meeting with a recruiter and was able to schedule a couple of interviews at the hospital and units I was interested in! Anyone else applying to seton main cardiovascular unit?
  9. It’s so professors can write a letter of recommendation for you to give out to hospitals or schools! Most will write them anyways, so don’t stress too much!!
  10. Hello y’all! My name is Kristen and I’m currently finishing up level 4 of the nursing program (at EVC, but did my skills class at REC)! I wanted to reach out to see if any of y’all who are going to be starting the program are in need of scrubs! I have a few I’d like to pass on! And of course any encouragement/advice/insight! Good luck and congrats to all of you!
  11. I did my skills there but my home campus is EVC. There's actually a RRC facebook page! They have a lot of info on the page and they are always happy to answer questions specific to that campus! I hope that's helpful! or if any one on this page has been to RRC they can help too!
  12. I personally would suggest taking that class in person. Dosage calculations can be very tricky and difficult until you understand them. And it's just a ton of material. Ultimately, if you decide to take it online, I believe they offer a workshop for dosage calculations, and you should definitely do that! Best of luck!
  13. http://sites.austincc.edu/health/rnsg/apply/traditional/#before-you-apply that site has all the criteria to be able to apply! I believe you’ll need to retake a class! You got it though!
  14. Hey! So the maximum score for a first time applicant is 44 so you’re probably in a good spot. Just know the process to being accepted is a lot of waiting around. If you get accepted make sure you save time to hang around your phone/computer to get into the skills class (once they petition you to get into it), because with out that class you can’t start the program! Good luck! Don’t be afraid to reach out if you have any more questions along the process. My email is [email protected] I’m currently the VP elect of Eastview for the student nursing association.
  15. First, CONGRATULATIONS on finishing! How exciting! Second, thank you so much for sharing all of that information! It is so helpful!
  16. yes we did! ACC ADN - Spring '19 EVC Cohort is the name of the group if you want to search for it on facebook!
  17. I got mine done at ARC but i had a friend that said she had hers done at Concentra!
  18. I talked to someone in the program and she suggested getting the ebook. that she didn't get it from the get go and then decided to and it ended up being more to purchase access to the ebooks afterwards!
  19. Thank you so much! You're a life saver! I am so excited to get all my nursing stuff and it's so nice to know I have options!! Thank you! also do you not have to wear your scrubs during class days? just for clinicals?
  20. Oh my gosh thank you so much! That is sooo helpful! Do you have a recommendation on a place to get better scrubs? I got the ones I have for nursing skills off of amazon so I don't know of any stores around here! And quizlet saves my life so that's good to know about the ebooks. Did you have to buy a special pair of shoes? Thanks again for all the help!
  21. Hello! I'm looking for a little guidance! I just accepted a spot into the ADN program for spring 2019! My questions are, what are yalls schedules like? and when it comes to text books, what package did you go with? Thank you so much!
  22. I'm going to wait until they update the text book list for spring 2019 before purchasing! I think I'm going to try to find someone who is in the program already and see what they recommend for a package
  23. Im at EVC as well!
  24. They may be sending acceptance letters out in waves, but yes it should be through email. As long as you finish 1105 before the spring semester, that shouldn't interfere with starting the program in the spring.
