  1. I would ask the recruiter about your current situation. They are very understanding and will speak to the director on your behalf. It is on a case-by-case basis, so I am sure they may make an exception for you.
  2. Hey Yumi, is it $6/hr or base pay + $6/hr?
  3. I was asked: Tell me about yourself. Why do you want to work for OR? And then each manager/director of each location provides a brief description of their location. And at the end, they ask which location are you most interested in (Children's, East Campus, Medical Center, Surgical Center, IDK if there are more I forget)?
  4. Nice!! Which location did you get?
  5. Honestly, I think I will because OR is something that I always wanted to do, and as a new grad and even an experienced nurse, it is hard to get into the OR without experience. Pay does increase after a year, but not sure how much. And the on-call pay, I should have asked. Did you get an offer already?
  6. Yes, from my conversation when I got the offer, on-call pay is time and a half base pay (x1.5).
  7. Yes, the differential gets tacked on to the base pay.
  8. It depends. For residency, I know we will be doing 8 hours/5 days (40hrs/wk) for some time. Then, eventually most residents will do 12 hour/3 days (36hrs/wk).
  9. I'm sure you will hear back. Each OR location has their timeline of when they choose their candidates. Apparently, there will be 9-10 residents for the OR cohort for August 2022. And from the looks of the sign-up genius that was sent to us...there were 12 that signed up to interview. OR has always been my passion, but the pay is really turning me off.
  10. I interviewed for the Operating Room for the Adult RN Residency program, but I guess they combined it with the Children's Hospital as well. There were 8 interviewers via Zoom through mine. I got an offer today, but like everyone said, I am unsure if the pay is worth it for a 3-year commitment (1 year residency and 2 years full-time employee). How is everyone else feeling?
  11. I am really nervous about it! We get 5 minutes to see the question and prepare... but then we only have one time to record. Hoping for the best!
  12. I applied yesterday and got an email today to do a one-question video interview.
  13. Hi! Yes, that was me! Thank you haha! Quick question, any guidance on what to study for the APEA 3P Exam?
  14. Hi everyone! My name is Edward, and I currently in the MSN-FNP program, but my case is a little bit different than everyone else’s. Since I just graduated from my ABSN program this past December 2020, I was given the opportunity with ASU to take the 3Ps (Advanced Patho., Adv. Physical Assessment, and Adv. Pharm) over the course of an entire year (16 weeks/course), so that I can start the MSN-FNP courses after achieving my one year nursing experience requirement. I wanted to know if anyone has taken the 3P APEA Exam as it is something that we need to pass prior to beginning the FNP portion of the program. Any guidance would be helpful. -Edward
  15. Hi, thank you so much for commenting about your experience. I'm sorry your interview didn't go as well as you hoped. It makes me question wanting to apply there. I'm happy though that you were able to find your niche with HUP. It's a great hospital. Maybe, I'll apply there if they have any openings. Finding RN residencies in the Philadelphia area is difficult! Anyways, thank you for your input ?
  16. Hi! Were you able to find any information regarding the program? I, too, am looking into this program.
  17. Hi Shannon! I know you applied a year ago. Are you able to update us on your experience or if you were given the position? I am currently looking into this nurse residency program and would like to know how it is.
  18. Yes, you can choose which campus you want to attend: Bensalem or Center City.
  19. No, Biochem is in-class at CCP. You might want to talk to your counselor and ask of online Biochem courses as I am sure she knows of some. Just to let you know! I've created a facebook group, "Gwynedd Mercy ABSN (Bensalem) May 2019", for people attending the Bensalem campus in May 2019. You may want to join so that we all can connect.
  20. Yeah, my counselor (Sharon Summers) has not informed me of orientation. Also I am taking Biochem (CHEM 118) at Community College of Philadelphia in the Spring.
  21. Hi Ash 121! I will actually be starting May 2019 instead of Fall 2019. At Gwynedd, ABSN students are commuters as they attend lecture at Gwynedd's satellite campuses (Center City Philly or Bensalem). Therefore, students live off campus. In regards to housing, many students usually try to find an apartment close to their designated campus.
  22. Hi! Congrats on getting accepted! I will be starting May 2019 at the Bensalem campus. I still have to take Microbio, A&P 2, and Biochem this Spring 2019. I think the orientation on October 30th is for students that have been accepted for the January 2019 start date.
  23. UPDATE: I have changed my start term date to May 2019.
