  1. Just came across a post where a new nurse stated that nursing is “very easy and they don’t think nursing school is necessary”. If you ever feel this way; please know that nursing may not be for you and that’s perfectly OK, you may be in for a wrong reason, or you are too laid back and not putting your whole self into your practice! Nursing is hard but rewarding, no matter the nursing field you are. We give hope to live a healthy life or leave peacefully, we demonstrate love, we listen attentively to our patients and families, we communicate needs, we advocate, we recommend/refer as needed. Unending list of what good nurses do, and not just passing meds and treatments! Jeez!
  2. We’re in the same boat hun! Just take it one day at a time. I started last October as NOC RN, sometimes I ask myself if this is actually what I wanna do, and sometimes I smile all the way home feeling fulfilled! I heard 1st year transitioning from SN to RN is mostly hard but we’ll get there little by little and become better. Key for me is effective time management! As soon as you get report, do quick assessment focusing on why they’re here and do your meds, then check clinical notes and the rest. ALWAYS MAKE USE OF STICKY NOTES for important things! Good luck hun
