  1. I graduated from UC with an average GPA of about ~3.3 (science and last 60 units). I scored a ~90% on the HESI. I have no volunteer or hospital experience at all. I've been working in research (discovery medicine and clinical research) for the past ~5 years. My rec letters were from: (1) Physio professor (2) colleague at work (3) Head of pharmacology/microbiology department at UC. But i think my essays tied everything together and made my app much more compelling.
  2. Hi everyone, I applied a day before the deadline, and received my preliminary email almost two weeks ago. Although, my preliminary email looks different compared to nurse_steph94. I didn't get any "check-off" list... Email said this: ""Thank you for your interest in Samuel Merritt University. This email confirms that we have completed our preliminary review of your application(s). Email is the official method of communication. If you are expecting an email from us please check your spam and junk folders before calling. Throughout the application process you will receive notifications and updates when they are appropriate. Please refrain from calling the admission office as this slows the application review timeline. We look forward to working with you this application cycle. Sincerely, Samuel Merritt University Office of Admission""
