CSUF or online RN to BSN??
Im thinking about joinging CSU Fullerton's RN to BSN this Summer via the jump start option. It is less units than a lot of programs but the classes are long. It will take my entire Summer. there are 5 week classes like with grand canyon univ, univ of pheonix etc and im sure wgu or capella is good too im a little concerned that CSUF's RN to BSN will be hard. Please don't judge lmao. I am so tired from nursing school! Does anyone know if cal states are harder and more work than other online RN to bsns?? im trying to pick the best value that is also easy comparable to the others. With csuf it will essentially be free due to financial aid that I may not get as much of with these other online options. Can anyone weigh in on my thoughts?

CSUSM FALL 2022
Mine are processed, but I don't think that will stop your application from being processed. I got an email saying if they are missing documents then they would reach out. As long as you got everything in by the due date I wouldn't worry. They have a lot of applications to consider. The wait is brutal isn't it!

Thinking of changing majors, need advice from nurses
Hi! I need an outlet to be very honest about my thoughts and hoping for feedback. I am taking Anatomy101, the first pre-req. I've taken all general education already for the BSN. I'm having doubts of about my ability to be a nurse and am thinking of backing out and switching to another major that will pay well with a similar time frame or less for education. When I volunteer in Telemetry, the nurses are always complaining. I'm definitely listening. I fear I'm also not smart enough to have this responsibility although I may be over thinking it. I want to work in L&D, Postpartum, lactation or something related to that. I don't think I like the idea of working with old people. I have epilepsy, and though it's controlled and my seizures if they do happen are very predictable (upon waking up). But even just having epilepsy i fear that i won't even be allowed around babies. Does anyone know if they allow this? Also,I am 30, I just found out i am pregnant with my third child (5 if you count my step kids), so honestly 3 years of nursing school after pre-reqs feels like a long ways away. I've been thinking about other options.... Ultrasound, OB tech, or some kind of tech, maybe where I don't have as much responsibility and less schooling. I'm just doubting my abilities and want to know what the best back up plan is. Any thoughts? What is the best back up plan for those who think they aren't cut out for nursing?

Pre-nursing Student: Lost of intrest or Feeling burned Out?
Hello! I feel this way sometimes. I get cold feet and start doubting if I can do it. I suggest you take a semester off and volunteer at a couple of hospitals. See if it’s for you! Not only would that help you get in your school of choice, but you may re-gain motivation.

Took a class I didnt need.. frustrated
Yeah I’m wondering if I took it just because of a possibility I may not get into my first choice. I guess it is a good class to take anyway.

Took a class I didnt need.. frustrated
Wow, I went and saw a counselor and turns out I didn’t need to take Human Development/Lifespan PYSC. It’s so frustrating, because I’ve taken maybe 5 more classes than needed through my college career and now I’m not even sure why I took Dev PSYC. What compelled me to do that! Ugh. Anyone else? I feel like college counselors tell me the wrong things.

Well, I have psychology of gender and my 101. I wonder if that can be considered in place of development psychology. Hm.. so i should complete all for my school of choice, apply, and take the extra classes i need the following semester assuming i dont get accepted and then apply for the other schools?

Hey all... i'm confused. I want to apply to csusm and sdsu from msjc in california, however both schools and maybe others have different prereqs. Sdsu requires development psychology (so two PSYC courses. Csusm does not require 2 psyc's but there seem to be different requirements. So am i supposed to complete all prereqs for all schools that i intend to apply for? i dont really understand if you guys have advice?

Pell Grant Denied... Help!
I thought id update my post. Good news! I filed an appeal. I had to get an educational plan, and I submitted that with my appeal. So basically they approved me for all of the classes that will apply to an adn. So im taking more classes like chem and statistics so they won't provide aid for those credits. Oh well. I received a $190 deposit for 3 credits (6 credits arent eligible) and i should get 2 more this semester.

Pell Grant Denied... Help!
I actually did get the california promise grant! And I'm so very thankful. We have 4 kids between us both. So we have quite some expenses. Im glad i wont have problems at the bachelors level. Hopefully by the we'll be making more too.

Pell Grant Denied... Help!
Thank you for your reply. I have 62 completed units. I actually did find an appeal form on their site that has a checkbox that will allow me to appeal this particular issue. I printed the form and filled it out and it is requesting I provide an attachment to it explaining why ive exceeded them or whatever the exact circumstances were. I don't really know what to say... do you remember what you wrote for your appeal? Do I literally just write about how my degree didn't take me in the direction id hoped it would and through exploring my options ive found my passion? I dont know, i feel like i wont be doing this right lol. Tips? Did you submit further documentation?

Pell Grant Denied... Help!
Thank you for your comment. I just don't understand why it won't be approved if my goal is for it to apply toward the bachelors program. Doesn't make sense. Do you know if I can at least get a subsidized loan at the CC? Or do I also have to wait to go to the CSU to get that since I already have an associates? I have never taken loans before.

Pell Grant Denied... Help!
Hello, I got an Ass degree in Business Admin about 2 years ago and obviously I want to be a nurse now. I'm trying to take my pre-reqs and a few more classes to finish up the requirements for it to be a transferrable degree to a CSU, but my school said I've taken too many units and can't get the pell grant. I won't be working while attempting the pre-reqs, so my family needs the help. I was approved by fafsa for $6,000 if full time and the school said nope. If not, I'll basically have to take out a loan to cover living expenses to go to school and id rather see if anyone knows a way to work around this to get it approved. Now that I really think about this, I don't remember receiving Pell Grant funds more than a couple semesters. I was working so I didn't even need it though. Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks everyone!

Prereq question
Thanks Neo Soldier! But should I take the prerequisites for the bsn before i join the adn program? I know i have to take some for the adn, but i have more to take for the bsn. Wouldnt i just have to take them later (english, etc) prior to going into the rn to bsn program?

Prereq question
Hey! im getting started on prerequisites. Im getting mixed reviews on whether i should go for the bsn or rn-bsn. So i cant decide and it's driving me mad. I have some credits already from another degree. So i need 5 classes to get in to the ADN or 9 classes to go for the BSN. should i decide to go for the rn-bsn program later, should i take all 9 pre-reqs now so i dont have to finish them later, or does the rn-bsn online programs cover all that and make my efforts pointless? For my associates degree in business i did a non transferable degree. So i still need another english, and a couple others in order to complete the ed plan to transfer. Thanks!

Does Financial Aid cover BSN programs totally?
Hello! I'm excited to begin this journey as i finally feel like i know what i want to do but i am confused about some things financially. Here's my situation. I have a AS in Business. All of my classes were paid for under the BOGW. I was going to go back to community college to take my prerequisites before entering a CSU, however, wouldn't financial aid still cover my tuition because of my income? Or is it different because CSU's are much more expensive? I'm in a position right now where I was just about to register for some classes at my local CC, but they denied me for a pell grant due to having used too many credits. They said if I went to another CC I may be able to if minimal credits were being transferred over. Just the necessary credits. I really need the grant, so im considering a drive slightly further to a different CC. But that brings me back to my question... why not just go to a csu if i qualify for it to be paid for? Is that even a thing? It will be easier for me to get in the nursing program if i take all the classes at CSU san marcos so i just want to know my options or what others have experienced with financial aid. Thank you!
