  1. Hi everyone! I am a floor nurse who is part of the HTN QAPI at a community TX hospital. I volunteered to help find a way to provide blood pressure cuff to patients upon discharge. Our population would be patients who have difficulty paying for a blood pressure cuff on their own: our limited prenatal care, OBed drop in patients or patients who experience financial difficulties with access to care and resources. The goal of our project is to increase HTN awareness and to help our community in terms of improving equity among the more challenged families. Please let me know if you work in a hospital that has a program set up to provide blood pressure cuffs to patients who cannot afford them. We looked into trying to reach out to pharmacies and see if doctors could prescribe the cuffs but it seemed to lead to a dead end. Thank you for taking the time to read my post! Have a great day!
  2. Aw thanks so much! I went to the info session in January and I was trying to find my notes!
  3. Hi All! Congrats to everyone!! Lets start this journey!! I also got an interview. I have two questions. 1. I was wondering if anyone had started their immunization titers yet? 2. If someone got their BLS (CPR/AED) certification, would that be under BLS for Red Cross's website? Red Cross - Sugar land - BLS class search I'm looking to sign up for the class but I wanted to make sure before paying. Can't wait to meet you all for the interview!!
  4. Hi! I don’t think anyone has heard yet, usually if they have the forums blow up! I think we will hear back next week. *fingers crossed for everyone* Alex

  7. Flower18, is your interview date from this morning next Friday as well?
  8. I guess tomorrow we will know for sure.
  9. I have not received anything as well.
  10. Did you receive it today at 4:03pm? I still haven't heard back yet. anyone else?
  11. Yeah it's safe to say they've gone home now and we can keep our hopes on tomorrow! Keep faith!
  12. Freedomhiking, I still haven't heard back yet either. Tell her not to lose hope just yet. She's not the only sad girl right now! Hang in there!
  13. It's okay heyyyv, I haven't gotten anything either.
  14. I'm not sure! That is a good point. I think I'm really just focused on hearing back regardless and focus on what we would need to do to get everything together after I hear back. Just like many people I have been refreshing this forum and checking my email. Has anyone else heard back today at all?
  15. Congratulations to you Syd! Hopefully the rest of us hear back soon too! Thank you for sharing!! At least someone heard back!!
  16. I'm actually relieved that we can all share this experience together! Thank goodness for the internet!
  17. I'm curious now if people also received this email when they submitted their application. I submitted mine around Jun 15 and got this email afterwards: "Greetings from the University of Houston College of Nursing. Your NursingCAS application has been received and is under review. If additional information is needed, an academic advisor will contact you. Once the review process is complete, you will be contacted to let you know your application is pending the UH College of Nursing Admission Committee Team meeting in September. An Interview Day is included in the admission process. On campus Information sessions are hosted by UH College of Nursing academic advisors, faculty, and current students to help answer any questions you may have. Be sure to ask about scholarships! We look forward to reviewing your application!" I wonder if anyone will indeed contact you to let you know your application is pending review? Did anyone get this email or has anyone else been contacted?
  18. Good luck to everyone this week! I don't about everyone else but the weekend dragged on
  19. https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/university-of-houston-1052128.html I looked into the 2016 UH accelerated bsn program and it looked like this friday will be the day we get notification. Good luck to you all!! *fingers crossed!
  20. Thanks for the 9/8 heads up! :)
  21. I also haven't heard anything! I'm both excited, nervous and worried all at the same time! I wish you all luck!
  22. I called to clarify, they said twice per version of TEAS. The current version is TEAS 6.
  23. Hi Lawson! I found this group that is for this years application: https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/university-of-houston-1160555.html Like you I had a couple questions I was hoping to find the answers for. I think you should still try and apply this year if you are still considering it. UH is the only school in houston that has an accelerated.. I think TWU may have a 2 year program. Honestly I am apply to only UH and if I don't get in I'll consider maybe UTMB or TWU. Good luck to you! Have you taken your teas yet?
  24. Hi, I am scheduled to take my teas tomorrow.. I saw in the email it said: "Exam - Request TEAS VI scores be sent directly to UH College of Nursing, or you may upload your scores in the "Document Upload" section in NursingCAS. You may register to take the examination by contacting ATI. We are looking at multiple areas ~ Science, Reading Comprehension, and your overall composite. The minimum score required is 75% in each section. You are only allowed to take the exam twice." Does the twice mean for this application period or forever? I think this is a silly question but I'm not sure. I also noticed that last year's email from UH included the 75% in each section stipulation while this year's emails have not included that. Does anyone know if the requirement is still the same as last year?
  25. Hi All! Has anyone heard back from them once they submitted their application on NCAS?
