  1. Yes I use EPIC! Is this different than just right clicking and copying the column to a new time? If so, where is that feature at in epic on the flow sheet tab?
  2. Hi! I have been an ICU nurse for a little over a year and I still don’t understand how the majority of all the nurses around me get everything done and always leave right after shift report. I am always charting for 30 minutes to an hour and a half (depending on how crazy my shift was) after I do shift report. Even nurses who started with me and are at the same level don’t stay late. I cannot figure out what they are doing unless it’s what they are not doing that gets them more time. Does anyone have any tips or tricks that you have found that improved your time and efficiency?

Hi! I applied about a month ago as an internal applicant at my hospital for an IR nursing position (currently in ICU) but I have not received any contact from the hiring manager regarding an interview. HR said my info was sent to the hiring manager a day or two after I applied. The position just closed for applicants last week. I feel like a month is a long time to not have heard anything but I’m not sure if that’s how long it normally takes for this department, especially being under staffed right now. Just curious if anyone else has experienced a lengthy waiting period like this before getting an interview.

Hi! I Would love to hear feedback from anyone who has ICU and IR experience and what you do and don’t like about both and how the daily tasks differ. I am an ICU nurse and I’m very interested in IR.
  5. I am only about 6 months into my new nursing career and started straight in the ICU. I initially started my journey 4 years ago switching careers and going back to school to eventually be a CRNA (which was a 2 yr program at the time). After being an ICU nurse for 6 months, I know that I don’t want to do this or bedside nursing forever and I’ve also decided CRNA is probably not the right path for me for several reasons but mostly due to my age, the debt, and the time it will pull me away from my family. So now I’ve decided that I can see myself becoming an IR nurse but I’m not sure when the right time to apply would be. I have a 2 yr contract and I’m in a nurse residency program. Part of me wants to apply now since there is an opening but another part of me says I should wait at least a year to gain more experience. Im not sure what I should do and when the right time is to make that shift. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  6. Did anyone find out any information on how to apply for this program yet? I don't graduate until next year but I'm hoping to get into this program and cannot find any information on their website either.
  7. I'm super excited because I was accepted due to someone dropping out last minute! Since I didn't go to the orientation, I was curious if anyone could help me with three questions I had. First, where do you get the HIPPA certification? My second questions is where do you buy the scrubs? Third, I saw you purchase the ATI package but there are 2 other softwares it looks like and it wasn't clear where you purchase these so any info on how that works and where to go would be helpful! Thank you in advance for your help!

  9. For the people who were accepted, did you have a deadline for today? Just curious because they extended the notification deadline for people on the waiting list.
  10. Did you buy the items we need for clinical from the bookstore? How much were they?
  11. Where did you see that these books were recommended? I don't see any recommended books on the list we got at the orientation that has the information for the package.
  12. That’s awesome but how do get a receipt if you need the additional financial aid to pay for them? Do they give you more like an estimate? How long did the process take at financial aid?
  13. Did you do an interview and get put on an alternate list?
  14. I’m sure I had all the vaccines as a child but oddly my rubella and measles came back as immune and my mumps did not. I found out Monday which is cutting it close since it requires 2 doses 28 days apart. I’m getting my second dose on Dec 1st since I will be on a cruise the week prior. That is close but glad I found out before it was too late. The flow chart they gave shows the different ways on how to do everything to comply so as long as someone with records has a doctor who will sign off on that and it follows one of the avenues on the flow chart, that should be acceptable although the Tdap is only good for 10 years so proof as a child would probably not work.
