Columbia SON MDE 2019
Hi all! I'd love some advice from the group. I'm contemplating applying to the MDE vs. MDE/DNP program and just can't decide if it's better to apply to both and decide later that I may only want to pursue the MDE portion (understanding that by doing so I'm applying to a more selective cohort), or just apply to the MDE with the thinking that if accepted I could apply to the DNP from within. Thoughts? Advice? Thanks!

NYU ABSN Spring 2019
Hi all, I've made a very last minute decision to apply to NYU's second degree transfer (non-accelerated) program and would love your advice. About me: BA in Neuroscience, MBA from NYU. I've been out of school for some time working on the business side of the industry in hospital administration. As far as pre-reqs good, I need most (all but nutrition and developmental psychology) and would be willing to take them at NYU as part of the program. I'm trying to decide if I should rush to gather all of my materials for the upcoming October 15th (or is it November 1st?) deadline or wait until the next application cycle to apply. I have LoRs lined up (can upload through Common App), unofficial transcripts (can request official ones to be sent ASAP) and everything else ready to go. Any advice?

Columbia SON MDE 2019
Hi all, I'm relatively new to this process/forum and am considering applying to the MDE program this Fall or Spring. At this point, I need to complete the majority of the pre-requisite courses, and wondered if anyone had advice as far as doing so. Are online courses really acceptable, and if so, which ones are best to consider? I noticed that a number of nursing schools now offer many of the pre-reqs online; is this preferable to taking them online at one of the CUNY schools, for example? Any other advice is much appreciated. I have two small children at home so I'm a bit nervous about potentially doing this. Also, anyone have stats on acceptance rates or have a feel for how competitive these programs are (Columbia and others in the city)?
