  1. Hello Novo, I was wondering if we could chat about your experience navigating job opportunities and pay here in San Antonio. I went to graduated from a school in Colorado but have since moved back to TX to be closer to my family. I will be taking my NCLEX at the end of this month and was hoping you could provide me some insight on what you learned regarding the different offers you got, where you ended up, etc!
  2. Thank you for this ?I need brutal honesty like this! It is definitely true that the me 5 years ago would have never imagined I would want to become a nurse. Shoot I didn’t even know if I would make it till the next day! Like you said, I have done a lot of growing. Part of that includes being patient... Thank you for helping me see that it’s ok to wait 6 months if it means starting my nursing career off on a better foot.
  3. Thank you for the advice. I tricky appreciate the honesty here.
  4. Hey everyone! I am applying for initial licensure through the Texas BON but have to answer yes to eligibility issues. I have a DUI from 7 years ago and one underage drinking misdemeanor as well Which I will obviously need to report. My questions center on the application asking about being treated for alcohol/substance abuse within the past 5 years. Another question I would have to answer “yes” to if I applied now. I would love to take the NCLEX ASAP but will be coming up on 5 years post treatment this August. Would y’all recommend waiting to apply till August when I can truthfully answer “no” to the treatment question? Would it be worth being patient or should I disclose and get this application review started? I understand self disclosing can lead to monitoring, etc. Any advice helps! Thanks!
  5. Hey everyone! Does anyone know if we have received our grades for prerequisites for summer session classes if we can/should send our updated transcript for the program. I am currently on the alternate list and was wondering if anyone knew how to go about ensuring my latest course work is considered. Best, Demi B.

  7. Thank you! Yes, from what I understand, there may be more acceptances going out after August 10th depending on those who do/do not accept Regis offer. Thanks for the good vibes!
  8. Hey everyone! I am on the alternate list so I am keeping my Hope's up that I get pulled in. Congratulations Jengyu!
  9. Hello everyone, I have been blessed to learn that I have made the alternate list thus far for the ABSN program for the 2019 cohort. Sending good energy to everone who is waiting on the word. Best, Demi Benavides
  10. Hi Jengyu, I have heard that letters have just started going out at least for the accelerated BSN program. I am not sure about the CHOICE program but the advisors did say that decisions would all have been made by August 10th. I applied to bother programs, however I do not feel I am a competitive applicant for the ABSN. Hopefully we both hear good new for the CHOICE program. Good luck to you and I will send out good vibes that we can make it! Take care. Demi
  11. Hey everyone! I just finished up my application for the 2019 CHOUCE program. Is there anyone here who can share their experience with exception rates for the program? My cumulative GPA sits around 3.3 with my science GPA at about a 3.2. Not very competitive, but thought I'd give it a shot regardless! My work experience includes being an EMT for 2 years, and feel that I wrote a strong personal statement. Any insight from previous cohorts would be much appreciated! Best, Demi
