  1. i'm 41 and just finishing my pre-reqs. i'll be starting a 15 month absn program in the fall. i already have a jd and master's, but am trying to switch careers. have three young kids and work full time. i'm tired, but i love my classes. have had no issues with the age difference in pre-reqs. i've heard the absn program has a wide range of ages so i'm not overly concerned. mostly concerned about a salary cut when i switch careers. ?
  2. they should have multiple info sessions throughout the next year for you to listen to - they are online webinars. they do have a point system out of 11 points which combines your gpa (max 4.0), your science core courses (4.0) and then some bonus points for having other prereqs done. I attached the october 2018 powerpoint from the webinar. i don't think it's changed. Informational Forum Power Point 10.10.18.pdf
  3. Thank you for responding! Did you work full time? And you mentioned you were working when you started - did you stop working toward the end for clinicals? I'm wondering how much lead time you have for finding out date/location of clinicals? I work at KSU so my tuition is covered and I'd very much like to keep it that way - but not sure if it's doable with my current position. Thanks!
  4. Hi everyone. I'm taking prereqs now to apply for entry into Kent State's ABSN program fall of 2019. I have a JD and a master's in urban planning. I definitely needed a big career change and I want to be able to help people directly. I come from a family full of nurses. I'm very excited that I've started down this path - it is the probably the most relieved and happiest I've felt in quite some time. I'm wondering if anyone here is in the Kent State ABSN program, or getting ready to apply. Assuming I am accepted, I'll be working full time. I have three young children as well. Hoping to hear some feedback from others who managed a full, full, full schedule and survived. :)
