Second degree / career change
Hi there! I am 29 and have a bachelors degree in community health education. I stay home right now with my two toddlers and am wanting a career change as well. Since I have 2 kids, the accelerated program isn't really an option. I decided on an ADN program and will finish with my BSN online while working. I just got in to the nursing program a couple days ago so I'm super excited! People change careers all the time so don't feel weird about it. And seriously who cares?! Do what's best for you! You still have 30+ years of working and shouldn't have to be in a career that you're not happy with when you can easily change. The ADN program for me is only 3 semesters and then the BSN is 3 semesters all online. Good luck!

Yeah I really like Normandale but it's too far for me. Both Normandale and nhcc have great pass rates so I guess whichever is closer.

MANE spring 2019 applicants
So I downloaded this app called "informed delivery" and it sends you a picture of when you're getting in the mail each day. So I knew mine was coming! Worth it instead of wondering if it's coming today!

MANE BSN program feeling duped
So glad I ran into this. I applied for the MANE program for the spring and expect to get in. I was unsure about the whole metro state thing and plan to do an rn to BSN program from St. Cloud bc I o figures they are just money grubbing and it's an easy way to get students bc of the dual enrollment. So annoying that they are taking advantage like that!

Test teas question
You can use the calculator on all questions on the exam. You can only use your mouse to click the numbers so thats kind of annoying. You can go back and look at your answers and check your work before submitting for each section. I recommend purchasing the practice exams bc they are exactly like the test. I had no problem with the time constraints and did well on the exam and I think the practice exams helped a lot to prepare me on what to expect as far as formatting. The math section on the practice tests is EXACTLY like the exam with different numbers. Good LUck!

TEAS VI - failed :(
I passed on my first try and i found the practice exams to be helpful. Since they gave so much time for the tests I took my time and really made sure I understood each question. I almost exclusively used the manual to study. I also would google practice english questions bc i struggled on that section on the practice tests and on the real test I did very well on english. I would just use this as a learning experience. Study up and take the exam again. Another thing I did was watch youtube videos from people who took the exam and did well. Some of the videos tell you direct questions that were on the exam. Good luck!

ATI TEAS Test Help
I took my TEAS 6 in May of this year. I got an 87%. To study I almost exclusively used the study guide provided by the company. I haven't taken anatomy, phys, math, or english in more than 10 years and I did fine on the exam. I studied mostly science and english and i studied for about 6 weeks. On the practice exams I always scored in the 80's. The practice tests are a great study tool. The only section that wasn't super helpful on the practice tests was the science section because it is such a broad topic that it doesn't really help you in terms of what to study. I would just pound the study manual science section and you will be fine. The english section was the easiest for me - i only got 1 wrong. Math was exactly like the practice exams and so was reading. If you got an 82 on your practice test you will probably be just fine on the exam. Good luck!

MANE spring 2019 applicants
Also, I have been emailing with someone at nhcc and she said the average score of ACCEPTED applicants is 11.5 so I'd say you have a chance with 11.2 for sure.

MANE spring 2019 applicants
12.7 For sure at Normandale and nhcc. I am still waiting on ARCC to accept one of my classes for transfer. And you can take the teas exam at other schools than the one you're applying to. So if you wanted to take it again you'd just have to drive somewhere else.

MANE spring 2019 applicants
Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a thread for MANE applicants to see where you're applying and what your composit score is! I am applying at Normandale, anoka-Ramsey, and north Hennepin. My composit score is 12.7 with a 4.0 gpa and 87.3% on the TEAS.
