I agree. It's give and take. When we care about what we don't need to do, how about the part the family does for us? I care for a 2nd grade boy. The mom pays my school meals along with my patient. When I ran late, the family did everything. They could have waited for me to do it. Sometimes, when I was busy, the mom washed the milk bottles, cleaned up the syringes. I go with my patient to school. When I offer to do his laundry, she said, "no, we do laundry all together on weekends. no worries". I help tidy up his room. My agency says bathing and dressing are also part of my duties. But I don't do either as the family do it all.
