Linfield Spring 2019
A friend of mine got a response from Mindy today (nothing to do with the waitlist) so seems shes starting to respond to emails today!

Linfield Spring 2019
Let me know if someone starts a FB page! Very excited to get to know everyone! Also I live near Salem so if anyone else lives near here and ever wants to carpool I would definitely be interested in that!

I just got my acceptance letter as well! Can't wait to start!

Linfield Spring 2019
Ahh that stinks! I am so anxious. I've considered calling my local post office and telling them to hold all my mail so I can just pick it up in the morning instead of waiting for my mailman. But i think that's a little dramatic. So I'll just wait.... lol

Linfield Spring 2019
Did anyone get their letter in the mail today? Usually from Portland to nearby cities it only takes a day or 2. But I didn't get anything today. So hopefully tomorrow I will get mine.

Do you think she would tell us via email if we got in or not?

Linfield Spring 2019
I emailed her on Friday, and she said they are admitting 44 students, and have 25 on a waitlist. There were 180 apps total. She didn't say what portion of those were competitive though. They will mail them out next week, hopefully on Monday she said. So I am not sure how definite that is.

Viable means they "qualified" I talked to her just a bit ago. That doesn't mean they are competitive, just basically they met the minimum application requirements. She also said this isnt a larger application cycle either, its pretty standard.

When I called admissions, they said sept 14th was the soonest they would mail out letters, and sept 30th was the latest. That stinks about UP, but I know that Linfield bases how many seats they offer on how many applications they received. So big application cycle, means more seats will be offered. However doesn't reduce the competitive aspect of it! It sucks that there are so few nursing transfer programs here in Oregon. That's the number one reason I don't want to apply to OHSU. I don't want to do a 3 year program when I have a junior standing.

They only take the second attempt, including a W, so in sue22's case they would use your "C" in a&p 1 to calculate your gpa. But like mentioned above, most weight is on a&p gpa then science, then pre req! However, from my conversations with the gal from linfields admission's office, she said that having all prerequisites done is a huge help, but not necessarily having all 93 transfer credits as long as they see you can reasonably finish up before Jan 10th.

Linfield Spring 2019
I am also planning on applying for the spring 2019 cohort! I am very nervous.... Linfield is my quickest route to obtain my BSN and one of the only schools that doesn't require work experience so I am putting all my eggs into one basket for now! My pre-req GPA is going to be (hopefully) around 3.75 assuming I finish spring term with A's, and my overall is just about the same. I have no medical work experience but tons of volunteer experience about 4 years worth but only 1 year of medical volunteer experience.
