  2. Don't take anything said to you by an angry or confused patient personally. Eat and pee when you have a second, the chance may not come again that shift. Have nurse friends you can unwind with, they understand what you are dealing with.
  3. When your CNO hands out the gifts for nurses week...an umbrella, again.
  4. I had a patient tell me they were allergic to Zofran because they were allergic to fruit and the Zofran tastes like fruit. Also because their significant other was allergic.
  5. Little old lady walking down the hall looking very worried. I asked what was wrong. She responded she wet herself. Patient was newly incontinent and early dementia. I assisted her back to her room and helped get her cleaned and changed. As I was cleaning her she suddenly yelled "My coochie itches!" I had to hold my breath to prevent myself from laughing.
  6. Brought a 4 year old back to the ER for c/o abd pain, fever and vomit x1. As we were walking back I asked if they were not feeling well, they replied "I threw up." I asked the parent and patient when the last bowel movement was, they looked a little lost so I asked if patient had a bowel movement today and the patient said no. I asked if they had one yesterday and they replied, "Yes! A big turd!" and held their hands out to show how big it was!
  7. That moment when your patient states that they may have been exposed to TB a while back and then coughs.
  8. the patient on the floor covered in stool from incontinence and blood from pulling the IV out.
  9. that for the 13th time they need their water glass handed to them even though it is right there. They don't even need to to stretch their arm out full length.
