  1. "Goodness is about character - integrity, honesty, kindness, generosity, moral courage, and the like. More than anything else, it is about how we treat other people"- Dennis Prager This quote to me is motivational because we get to practice "goodness" everyday as nurses and even though some shifts are really tough, as long as we can honestly say that we were kind, honest and good to those we cared for, we can be at peace with ourselves and wake up to another shift with as much enthusiasm as the day before.
  2. When your patient says that you look identical to his 46 year old daughter... I am 25 lmao
  3. Nurse: "Lt. Worf you have a fever, a high WBC and your blood pressure is really low, you should really get back to bed" Lt. Worf: "I have never felt better, I am going home! Get me my discharge papers!"
  4. When a patient pushes their call button, I hope i don't find their trache on the floor and their family at the bedside freaking out because the ostomy is closing!
  5. When your patient has just finished eating and has a frequent productive cough and is mobile!
  6. 1. When ever you have a chance to chart do it ! Don't leave it till the end otherwise you will never leave on time! 2. Leave your dressings for the afternoon when most of the morning rush is over. 3.When you don't know whether to call a doctor regarding a patient concern, consult with your charge nurse or the most senior nurse on your unit- most times you may not need to call. 4. Always help your fellow nurses when they ask for help or when you see that they are struggling to keep up- they will appreciate it and they will likely refer the favor. 5. Never post about work or patient's on social media
  7. Nurse: "Sir you have a fever, your WBC is high and your BP is really low, you should really get back to bed." Patient" "I don't know what you are talking about, i have never felt better! Get me my discharge papers! I'm going home !
