Anyone have experience working a strike?
There’s a potential strike happening in my area and some recruiters posted about working during the strike. Just wondering what the experience of working during a strike is like. Were there people waiting outside the hospital preventing you from getting in? What were the working conditions like? Any feedback is very much appreciated!

Switching recruiters within an agency
This is an agency I've worked with in the past. I'm currently with another agency and I'd like to continue working with the previous agency but with a new recruiter. Who do I ask to speak with the recruiter manager though? Do I ask the recruiter I had been working with?

Switching recruiters within an agency
Hi everyone, I'm wondering if anyone has switched recruiters within an agency? How do you go about it? Not sure what the appropriate chain of command is in this situation. Thanks!!

Travel Nursing w/ an ADN
The BSN requirement in NYC may be more for permanent staff rather than travelers. I worked at a hospital that received magnet designation but hired travelers with an ADN.

Anyone worked at Kaiser LA?
I was offered a contract at Kaiser LA and I've been looking for reviews but haven't found any recent ones. Does anyone have experience working there as a travel RN? I've read through a thread from 2014 saying all Kaiser facilities treat travelers horribly but I'm wondering if LA is any different or if conditions have changed since then. Thanks!!

How to negotiate on a contract?
I guess I should have put a little context into my post, but I worked at a large teaching hospital in NYC for 3.5 years before starting travel nursing. I have 2 assignments under my belt and I'm currently in the extension of my 2nd assignment (I'm told it looks good to have an extension on your resume, correct me if I'm wrong). So I have some experience but I'm still fairly new to travel nursing! I have no experience with negotiating and feel like I'm generally timid when it comes to asking for what I want I've been asking around to different agencies and I've been told by a couple of them that their rates are non-negotiable because they give you the lowest base rate so they can maximize the non-taxable portion. Is that a red flag or would it be worth it to move forward with these companies?

New travel nurse looking for advice
My goal was to work in Seattle on my first assignment too! I ended up working in Puyallup which is about 1 hr outside Seattle. I was with Medical Solutions at the time and it was a great experience. It's great that you're working with multiple agencies. I think I was applying through 5 different ones to find a job in Seattle before I found the one in Puyallup. Agencies with exclusive contracts are your best bet to getting an assignment in the area you want. I'd widen your search range and not get your heart set on one place. I've been told by my recruiters that the market isn't as hot as it has been in the past. I met a travel nurse on my assignment in Puyallup who was in the Seattle area for 2 months before she found an assignment nearby. I don't want to discourage you but give you realistic expectations of what it's like to apply out there. Best of luck with everything!

How to negotiate on a contract?
Hello! Does anyone have tips on how to negotiate on your contract? What portions of the contract are the most negotiable (e.g. base rate, OT rate, housing stipend)? Are you supposed to tell recruiters up front "I'm looking for x amount as a weekly take home"? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
