They shared a link to the online orientation on blackboard

I just called the school about the orientation on Sept 4th and the person I spoke with didn't really know what orientation I was talking about. He said that all he knew was the SON orientation was cancelled and has not been rescheduled. I've decided that I won't attend the one on Sept. 4th. I'll be honest, I'm getting very anxious. I feel like I don't know anything. I wish that a professor would post a syllabus so I could feel like school was starting. Thank you @nurseangela923 for starting this thread so I feel a little more informed than before.

Thanks for the heads up. I really hope they have the online orientation before classes begin. Has anyone bought the textbooks? Did you buy them all from the bookstore?

I just saw the email about the Sept 4 orientation in my spam folder. I assumed they would send it to the official liu email but it was sent to my personal email. I thought there would be a separate nursing orientation as well. Maybe we get separated into the different majors at the big orientation. You can see the list of books for each class if you go to Student Center on myLIU and look under class schedule. There should be a highlighted link on the top of the page. Unfortunately my list is blank because they don't have anything for section 4 classes.

Also, has anyone tried to access blackboard?

Does anyone know if the orientation is for all new students or just the nursing students? And has anyone purchased the scrubs? Was it difficult to get a good size match? Thank you!

I'm taking the same classes. The advisor said there is no clinical this semester. I guess we start next semester. Also, apparently an email about the orientation should be sent out soon.

Oh that makes sense. The adviser told me orientation is August 29. I assume we'll get an email with specific details. I'm excited too! But also a tad bit nervous. Would you mind posting information as you find things out? I'll do the same :)

I will also be starting Fall 2018 as a transfer student. I assumed we begin classes on Sept. 5 because that's the start of the classes I registered for. Of the courses I am taking, it doesn't look like there will be a clinical for any of them so I was confused about when clinicals start for us. It's such a relief to find someone else from this cohort.

3.0 GPA but not not a lot of experience in medical field and I only sent in 1 letter of recommendation.
