  1. Not 100% positive of which state, as it's going to be temporary. We are on a boarder of a few states. So it's going to be best if I just get a non compact NM license in advance. I can't seem to get a definitive answer from New Mexico as to the turn around time on getting the temporary license while they process the app. In this circumstance, compact is a good and bad thing as not all the neighboring states to me are compact. I don't want to end up starting with the compact then we decide on a different state that's non compact, and stuck while on assignment without a license, and have to end the contract early because of our permanent home change.
  2. Hi all! I'm an LPN, taking a travel contract in NM before my clinical starts for my RN bridge program. I have a compact license, but will be moving around the time I start the travel contract. Has anyone applied recently for a NM license by endorsement? If so, how long did it take to get your temporary license? Thanks!
  3. Hey Nicki! Somehow I missed your reply. The lady in the nursing department mentioned a couple clinical sites right on the boarder of OH/WV, so not sure where you're at, but you might not be too far! I'm looking at about 2.5 hours to get to the one in Chillicothe. I need to pull out my study guide again, I have taken a couple week break I do have FB, I'll look you up and send you a message tonight or tomorrow. I'm Jenn.
  4. I'm testing that day too! I have the HESI nclex study guide, the nursing department recommended that. I'm also going through as many free nclex questions as I can find online. Where are you from? I am in Cincinnati. Is your friend on this site? I'd be interested to know how coursework went. And clinical lol.
  5. I believe they offered the ABSN in the past. Now, Xavier and Mt St Joe both have an accelerated option. MSJ might be direct entry MSN though. What are your goals asan RN? I have a bachelors, and am an LPN. I'm going to continue my nursing education, but on the ASN level for fewer prerequisites, less cost, and time. I intend on staying in LTC, so an associate RN degree is going to allow me to get more pay for the same responsibilities as a floor nurse. As an LPN, I'm making more in LTC than new grad BSNs ina hospital. My point is, degree level really depends on your goals. I have looked into the accelerated second degree programs, but to leave full time employment for about 2 years, coupled with astronomical tuition just won't work for me. Good luck!
  6. I have applied to this program, and am awaiting the school to review my transcripts, and get the email that I can schedule my HESI in June. Is anyone currently in the program, or any recent graduates who can tell me a little more about course work required. I have spoken with a couple employees of the school, who have mostly told me grades are by tests in each course. Is this correct? Also, to any recent graduates, did you feel the program prepared you for the NCLEX?
  7. @NurseNicole89, sounds like you did the hybrid program? I've applied for this upcoming fall start for the program and am awaiting the notification that I can schedule the HESI test for June. You mention you have to really want it to make it through the program; is there a lack of support from the college? One thing I haven't been able to get too much feedback is the structure of courses. Are grades based solely on tests? Or, are there projects, discussion boards, etc?
