Got rejected but that's okay, I put my deposit into another school already and it is cheaper than NYU. I got my undergrad in Kinesiology with a minor in Nutrition. Undergrad GPA was a 3.81, prereq GPA 3.71. I had 2 academic LOR's (one of the professors actually got her tenure from NYU and I was the lead researcher in her study) and 1 LOR from a Nurse. I was a caregiver for 3 years, doula for 6 months, 500 hours of ER volunteer experience, and 2 health research publications. I also did a lot of homeless outreach work (food drives, HIV education, and prevention). Not sure what more I could have done but everything happens for a reason ? good luck everyone! Hope to work with you all in the field.

Sorry to hear about those who did not get in; hoping you have other options! We will all end up being nurses. Still nothing on my end. The waiting continues... anyone else still waiting?

Omg congrats everyone! That is so exciting. Nothing has changed for me which is starting to get scary. I called and they said more letters will be going out this month up until June (and they go out pretty randomly).

Hi! I put my deposit into Loyola Chicago in February but I heard back from Duke last week so I’m in between Duke and NYU. I also got into George Washington but declined them. I would prefer to be at NYU because of the hospital network they have established. I also find NY healthcare policies to be more progressive and the current research going on at NYU hospitals is really intriguing to me. I’d like to also get my masters from there because I hope to become an NP ? NYU offers more diversity than my other schools which is a big factor since I come from a culturally diverse background.

I’m so sorry to hear about those who didn’t get in but it sounds like most of you have other options to consider so we’ll all still become nurses ? My checklist is still up too *sigh*. I already put my deposit into one school, i found out from another school I got in and I’m considering them if NYU doesn’t happen. the deposit for that school is due May 11th. I’m hoping NYU gets back to me before then because NYU is my #1.

Completely normal! Mine also has my checklist. There isn't a "status" per se. Hopefully some news for us this Friday ?

I just got off the waitlist and received my admissions letter! I am so overwhelmed especially because Duke is such a prestigious school. I will have to wait and see my financial package before making any final decisions. Anyone else also hear back recently and planning on making a trip to visit the school?

I got a similar answer as well! I called a few minutes ago regarding my application status and they said, "we won't hear back until mid-May" when I asked if decisions were being sent out

Haven’t heard back yet I submitted early February and my first name starts with an A (last name is L). I think location is also a factor! maybe those that are closer to NY are hearing back earlier? I’m in SF, CA which is pretty much on the opposite end of the country.

Tuition is $24,531 per semester and the absn program is 4 semesters! I'm not sure what the cost of material and the extra stuff (plus housing if you're interested) will add up to! I'd say probably expect at the very least $100k

Are people that are getting acceptances hearing back for the traditional track and/or the absn track?

Hi All: Congrats to those that got in! It looks like generally, people are not receiving an email and an admitted students portal is popping up on the application checklist page? Mine hasn't gotten any updates but I wanted to be on the lookout. So nervous and anxious!

I plan to dorm! I looked at the various residence options they offer and I’m pretty sure ABSN students are eligible to dorm.

Thanks for the responses. I’ve tried reaching out a few times (via email and phone) but have not been able to connect with the individual who requested my transcript. I will just have my high school send it out just to be safe. My portal also says it’s waived but I just don’t want there to be anything holding my application back.

Hey guys! Applied for the ABSN program back in February and am anxiously waiting like everyone else on the thread. I received an e-mail saying my application was incomplete because my high school transcript was not sent over? I graduated high school in 2014 and am a second-degree applicant (similar to everyone else). Did anyone else receive an e-mail like that? Thanks and good luck!

If you go to Leah4Sci's website and join her e-mailing list you get access to a lot of awesome study guides that make things a lot less complicated. I wish I had known about them earlier in the semester but I was able to salvage my grade from a C to a B! Good luck! OChem can be frustrating but it's actually fun to learn.

I will be graduating this fall with a degree in Kinesiology. I would like to apply to Masters Entry Programs in Nursing. My overall all GPA is a 3.3 and my science GPA is a 3.5. I hope to have at least 300 hours of volunteer expierence from a hospital and I am also assisting in a clinical research study. I might also get published as part of another review research study later this year. My question is, what more can I do to strengthen my application and compensate for my low GPA? At this point I am thinking about even switching over to Pharmacy because I don't think I will get into any nursing programs. Any advice is appreciated.
