  1. It's the weekend :) but I plan to Monday
  2. A little background first, I've been working on a med/surg unit since I have been working as a nurse (4 years) and decided I am ready to be done working in a hospital setting. I have always known I didn't want to work in the hospital for long and saw an opening at the local health department for an epidemiology nurse. I applied to it on a whim and was offered the job yesterday, the day I interviewed. I am a little introverted and tend to want to get out of an interview as soon as I can, and missed my opportunity to ask questions about the details of the job. I realized once they offered me the job I really don't have any idea what an epidemiology nurse does. I understand it has a lot to do with disease prevention and management but what is a typical day in the life of an epidemiology nurse? I haven't accepted the job just yet they are allowing me a couple days to decide. Any information would be a big help.
  3. I'm in the same boat as you. Been working the floor for almost four years and recently got my MSN in Nursing informatics. Hoping to find a way to get into it with no experience.
