  1. We have people in our program who are looking to start this first job out of state. These people are looking into getting their nursing license in the state they plan to practice in, rather than getting it in Oregon and attempting to transfer.
  2. @LittleGrey I am in the Ashland accelerated cohort right now. The Ashland students can not do clinical rotations at the Portland OHSU hospital. Students are placed at Asante and Providence for clinicals. During summer term you will learn basic nursing skills and learn about the process of normal childhood development, normal pregnancy, and normal aging. Your clinicals will be in a skilled nursing facility, assisted living facility, and out in the community with childcare organizations. During Fall term you'll be in a class called "chronic". You'll learn about management and care of chronic diseases like diabetes, stroke, etc. Your clinicals are on an inpatient rehabilitation floor and you also do some rotations to behavioral health, palliative care, and wound care. This is where you get your first introductions to psychiatric nursing. During winter term you'll take "acute". During acute your "home" unit (where you spend most of your clinical days) will be a med/surg floor and you will do rotations (one 12 hour shift) to the emergency department, labor and delivery, surgery/PACU, ICU, and potentially the NICU if you are at Asante. So to concisely answer your question, all the topics you asked about are covered in clinicals but there are not traditional "units" like I think you are referring to. Hope this helps!
  3. 26 ABSN and 6 ABSN-FNP/DNP fast track students are accepted into the Ashland cohort, for a total of 32 students. Hope this helps! (Current ABSN Ashland student)
  4. The Ashland campus takes 22 ABSN students. I was offered admission and was on the highly likely list also. You are "highly likely" to be admitted this year, based on the statistics of previous year's waitlists. The waiting game is the absolute worst, but don't give up hope yet
  5. Hi Everyone - Yesterday (4/13) I got an email admitting me into the Ashland ABSN Summer 2018 program! I was highly likely on the waitlist. So for those who are still waiting - they are making moves down the list!

  7. I'm with you...It is so hard to just sit and wait!
  8. As far as I know, there is not an Ashland forum started yet! I am a "highly likely" alternate for the Ashland ABSN. I'd love to connect with more Ashland students.
  9. Congrats on your acceptance to Linfield! Based on previous years, it seems that many "highly likely" alternates hear back starting in mid April. Which program are you leaning towards, if you could choose?
  10. Hi Everyone - I started a forum for those of us who are on the alternate list https://allnurses.com/online-nursing-schools/ohsu-2018-waitlist-1154008.html
  11. Hello Everyone! I thought I'd start a thread for those who applied to OHSU for the 2018 year and were placed on the alternate list. My hope is that we can semi- keep track of wait list movement on this forum. I applied to the Ashland campus for the ABSN and the BSN programs. I was waitlisted as "highly likely" for the ABSN, and I have not heard from the BSN program yet. Anyone else out there?
  12. I read on another forum that the Ashland campus will be sending out invitations sometime during this coming week! @kittycat48
  13. I applied to both! @acelia95
  14. Hey everyone ~ I applied to the Ashland campus this year. I completed all of my prereq's at SOU. I have a degree in Biology as well. My pre-req GPA is 3.93 and I have over 600 volunteer hours. This is my first year applying and I am super hopeful to be accepted but also nervous! Has anyone received an email about an invitation to interview?
