  1. Sorry to hear that! Don't give up! It's very competitive because of the small class size and even if you end up being put on the waitlist there will be people who drop and you'll get a spot. Have you finished all of your prerequisites yet? That may be why. I think they require a certain amount to be done when applying, and if you haven't, just keep working hard in those to bring up your GPA! Best of luck to you.
  2. First email, then they'll send you an official letter too!
  3. Thank you! The deadline was March 31 and I heard back mid-April, but he said usually it's about a month or so! They wait for all applications to come in and then take them for review by the nursing committee.
  4. Yes I did! I actually applied for August 2018 start and ended up pushing it back to the Spring 2019/January start for a few reasons. Good luck to you!! You should be hearing back soon! It usually pretty soon after the deadline for applications that they get back to you. I'm trying to connect with others in the program so as more start hearing back, we should start a Facebook group or something!
  5. I am starting an accelerated BSN program in January 2019, and it's been about 5 years since I've taken both A&P I and II. I did well the first time, but all of my prerequisites were completed with my first degree which I received over 3 years ago, so I am worried this might be too far out that I haven't retained information necessary for succeeding in the accelerated BSN program. I have been looking for a "refresher" course online so that this information can be fresh in my mind before starting the program. I still have my textbooks but I don't retain as much by just reading through them. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use? I am trying to save as much money as possible before I go back to school, so ideally nothing too expensive. Any free options would be ideal... Suggestions? For other ABSN students who took a few years off before going back, did you feel prepared having a gap between prerequisites and starting the nursing classes? Thanks!!
  6. I haven't seen a thread for the Holy Family University Spring 2019 cohort yet, so I wanted to make one! Has anyone applied and been accepted yet? Or waiting to hear back? This is for the fast-track 2nd degree program!
  7. Nice! Best of luck to you. Hopefully we'll be in school together come August!!
  8. Yes I had all my prerequisites done through my first Undergrad degree. I ended with a 3.75, hbu?
  9. Hi! I applied to the Fall 2018 cohort. I missed the priority deadline as well and oddly also submitted my application on Feb 22! I'm so anxious to hear back but was told they won't be reviewing applications/making any more decisions until after the deadline closes...so I'm not expecting to hear back until around mid-April. It seems so far away! And I hope they still have a good number of spots open!
  10. I also agree with Kelly, don't feel discouraged. I've had a few friends go through this program and as it is so competitive, a lot of people have to apply more than once. They also said if you don't get in one cohort you have a better change to get in the next. Best of luck to you.
  11. Hi I am curious how you have heard back already for the Fall 2018 cohort? I was told they will not be making any decisions until after the 3/31 deadline and generally within a month everyone will hear back. I was not expecting to hear anything before mid-April at the earliest for Fall 2018 acceptance. Thanks for any info!
