Hi! Sorry for the late reply, I applied for Seattle technically but they all had the same ID number so I think it went to all of the campuses. They actually reached out to me via email. I applied to a general application and an HR representative reached out to me to apply to the new grad program and he sent me a link and told me to email him when I was done and that was it! Hi! Yes my interview is Monday I’m super excited! I hope it goes well ?

Swedish New Grad Residency August 2021
Hi everyone!! Just wanted to put my 2 cents in. I have scheduled my interview for Labor and Delivery. I also put my second choice as Emergency Services, and they informed me that they have filled up all the interview spots since its so desired and they will most likely not be booking any more interview slots for ED unless the initial interviews do not go well. They also offered me different units that I can interview with instead which was more Tele/Med-Surg if I wanted to. Good luck everyone!! I'm actually based out of California so if anyone is from California I would love to connect

How would a preceptorship in a different specialty affect me?
That would probably be a very slim chance, because worst case my cohort finishes and I take one of their nurses as a preceptor over Winter break and finish my hours.

How would a preceptorship in a different specialty affect me?
Hi everyone, I'm currently in my last semester of RN BSN school, and I want to work in women's health (OB, antepartum, L&D). My school in southern California is having the hardest time finding placement for everyone because of COVID restrictions. It's a lot easier if you personally know a nurse but I'm from northern California so my networking is limited. With that, I got offered a preceptorship at the VA in Case Management, which is totally not the field I want to be in at all. How would this affect me when applying for a job in Women's Health since I didn't specialize in it for my final semester? I noticed a lot of job applications require your preceptorship to be in that specialty if you're a new grad. I'm conflicted because if I take the Case Management preceptor I will 100% graduate on time but if I turn it down I risk waiting longer for a nurse preceptor in my specialty and it could lengthen my graduation date.

CSULB FALL 2019
Hi everyone! Im in a semester cohort. The pros for semester is that obviously you get summer semester off, however, there are other benefits. You get to do clinical at so many different hospitals including Hoag, Torrance, St.Joseph, Saddleback, which are all great hospitals. I honestly can't imagine not being able to visit these hospitals because my goal now is to work at Hoag. If i wasn't in semester I would have never had this opportunity. You are also able to expose yourself to more than one computer system, staff members, and protocols so you are a more well-rounded student once you graduate. Semester students also have a higher NCLEX pass rate slightly in comparison to the trimester student (according to the professors at my orientation). Because every hospital has a different system, the first week is generally orientation so you are not ambushed with tons of work right away which is nice to slowly warm up to after a break. For trimester, you get done way faster in 2 years instead of 2.5. You are also basically guaranteed a job at Long Beach Memorial because you're there all the time. The hospital itself is more comfortable with their clinical students, so you have a little more free-will during clinical. The trimester professors will push you more, for example, they will make you do 3 care plans when in semester you only have to do 2. But if your goal is to get started and like Long beach memorial, then this is the way for you to go. I know someone who wanted Semester but got placed in Trimester and after the first year she didn't want to switch out because of the friends they made, so you never know! Both programs are great.
