  1. I got in, but already accepted my spot at U Penn and decided not to change gears, especially since Duke hasn't' released financial aid info yet. Penn and Duke were my top 2 choices, so I consider myself lucky to have the choice, even if I didn't know I had the choice until weeks later haha. Congrats and best of luck to all! Thanks for making the anxiety-inducing wait for communication a little bit better :)
  2. My ABSN program for students with a previous degree starts in a couple of months- as my orientation date approaches, the excitement builds but so does the anxiety! so to all the seasoned nurses and nursing students out there: What's one thing you wish you knew when you started nursing school? Thanks :)
  3. I think the most frustrating part has been lack of communication. Every other school I applied to at least gave a rough idea of when we would hear re: decisions. I get that their program is a fall start rather than a summer start, but lots of students apply to a mix (I know I did!) and making a decision is difficult when you don't have any inkling of when you'll hear back. A lot of schools' deadlines have either already passed or are rapidly approaching...
  4. Nope, I haven't heard anything new. Good luck!!
  5. Nothing. I emailed them last week to ask if there was an anticipated timeline re: decisions, because I have other offers I have to respond to by early to mid March, but I haven't heard anything back. Their (lack of) communication has been frustrating compared to most of my other programs that I applied to. Hopefully someone else has heard something.
  6. I'm in!! :) Good luck everyone!
  7. me too!! Even though I know people have said it would be the last day (today) and late, all week I've been wigging out. Good luck everyone!
  8. Nothing yet (I'm in Ohio where it's 6pm already, but I'm trying to keep calm since people said in previous years it came out pretty late in the evening Denver-time)
  9. Thank you! :) It's possible - were you in an interview group with 2 people who were involved in clinical research? Regardless, good luck!! :) All of the fellow applicants I met during the visit were SO nice!
  10. thank you for clarifying! I'm not from CO, so this confused the heck out of me during the interview day haha.
  11. Torture! :-p I heard from one of my other schools last week (Penn, which is one of my top choices, along with Colorado and Duke) and I'm relieved/excited I got in there. But I'm dying to know re: Colorado. Unfortunately it doesn't sound like Duke will let me know a decision before I have to decide on Penn or Colorado if I'm lucky enough to get in there too, so really I guess it boils down to Penn and Colorado being my top 2 :-p I wish these things were on timelines that were more synced up so that you don't have to decide on a school before you've heard back from others. Good luck to everyone this week!
  12. I was accepted at Penn, Colorado is supposed to notify this week, and then I'm still waiting on the rest of my schools (Drexel, Capital U in Ohio, Oregon Health Sciences) including Duke. I had to withdraw my app from UNC after looking at the matriculation tab on the website and seeing how early their program starts -- I'm finishing off one prereq for a different program this semester and I would have less than a week to finish finals and relocate, and that's just too insane. Penn, Colorado, and Duke are my top 3 choices -The thought of not knowing Duke's decision before I have to make a decision on my other offer(s?) really stinks, because hubby and I are trying to figure out what city will be best for us to move to, and I know he was interested in the Raleigh/Durham area as one of our potential options. So I'm curious to hear people's thoughts on Duke's ABSN program compared to other programs as well.
  13. I still have no email, and just the checklist. Argh, I wonder what that means haha. I'm trying to just give it time, but it's hard! edit: I got my email, I got in! :-p
  14. I didn't get an email yet but I see that checklist showing up in my app too. Trying not to read into it either way because I don't want to get my hopes up haha
