My first LPN job was at a SNF. I worked there for 10 years and loved it for 8 years. After that we were so short staffed I often worked as a LPN/CNA. Get them up, dressed, bathed if it was their day. THEN do their treatments, meds and charting. It got to be too much and I couldn't take it anymore. I now work in a clinic. I like it but don't love it. I like not working short. I like having support when needed. I like not working weekends or holidays. BUT I miss the residents and spending time with them and their families. BUT I know it was a good move because my license was at risk and nothing was going to change. It still makes me sad though.
