CONGRATS on getting into another program! I think your best bet is to contact -------------------- from Admissions to get a more realistic update on the waiting list. There seems to be about a full class based on the class facebook page but IDK if that means there aren’t available openings still. Good luck!

3.0 undergrad GPA, 3.3 prereq GPA. HESI scores were 90-93 in math, writing, and anatomy. I currently work as a medical assistant and have been for the past 3-4 years and was a clinical care volunteer during undergrad for about 400 hrs in the hospital rotating through Medsurg, MICU/SICU, Peds, Tele, Admin, and Endoscopy. I was waitlisted at SMU in 2018 and 2019 for both campuses and also interviewed at Western U in 2018. PM me if you have any other questions!

it is a blessed day y'all because I just got accepted as well!! Anne called me and said that there should be emails being sent out by the end of this week with decisions so don't lose faith!

I just got off the phone and they told me that in-person interviews are all next week (3/2-3/6) at varying times, if they need to extend then they will extend to the 9th, but other than that, we should be hearing back about acceptances/denials/wait-list by the end of next week. Good luck everyone

Unfortunately, it does not mean acceptance to the program. I think the answer to this question is quite difficult, since interviews are held in a group setting. In my experience, everyone I interviewed with seemed more than capable to excel in the program... I think at the end of the day, they just want to make sure you are personable, collaborative, and ready to take on their program!

Interviews are held in group sessions, how many people depends on how many have signed up. I interviewed twice before and both my groups varied in size. Had some ice breaker questions to start and to get to know the other applicants. Then, we got paired up and were asked to answer a role-play/scenario question. After that, we were divided into bigger groups and had a debate based on another scenario. They also asked more broad questions throughout the interview where anyone could answer as well. You don't need to bring anything to the interview

In my experience, if you don't get an interview invite, most likely they're just gonna send you a rejection email within the next month after all interviews are done and acceptances are sent out. But you still have a couple weeks to hear about interviews!

Hi all, since I applied to SMU for previous rotations, I got a phone call interview scheduled on 2/26 instead of having to come in-person. Good luck and I hope everyone hears back soon! From my previous experiences, they do send invitations in waves.

Yes, I got it without contacting them first. I was primarily just checking my portal for updates! My status just says that my application was submitted.

Hey y’all, just an update: I got an email today saying that my app has completed the preliminary review! They also said to avoid calling the admissions office since it can slow them down, and they said to email if you had any questions. Also be sure to check spam and junk for their emails just in case! FYI, when I applied for previous cycles, I received interview invites via email and/or phone call, so be sure to have your voicemails set up just in case!

I emailed Alberto and he said that this week is the third week for decisions and interview invites so maybe we’ll hear by Friday. Unsure if that meant that this week is the last week though. Don’t lose faith!

Yes, I interviewed for previous cohorts and was wait-listed twice already. Interviews for the ELMSN are in a group cohort and honestly, not too challenging. Questions are asked in a group setting so it seems like they want to see how you work in a collaborative setting, which I think makes it somewhat difficult to stand out. After the interviews, they sort through the candidates based on transcripts and test scores. Unfortunately for me, I believe that's one of my weaknesses on my application. My undergraduate GPA isn't great, despite doing okay on my prereq's. My HESI scores were above 90 for all categories I took. Also, still haven't received any news about preliminary review of the applications yet! Has anyone else?

Has anyone heard anything yet? I'm worried because one of my LOR's was submitted a day late that I won't hear back until later.

The apps are exactly the same every time I've applied, which makes it quite difficult. I just try to change up my personal statements, but my LOR's have been the same. The interviews were the same structure as well when I went, but some the questions are switched around a bit.

Hi everyone, no interview update yet. I got my preliminary review last week on the 26th! I called the office and asked why it got a little more delayed than usual, and they told me that some of the admissions coordinators were on vacation for a while, so that might be why. Hopefully we will all hear back soon with interviews! In the past, I've received phone call invitations or email.

Do you guys know if they're still contacting about interviews? I haven't received anything from them yet and just want to know if it's a lost cause or not.
