What's your ANNUAL SALARY?
You seem miserable as a nurse. Why don't you do something else? I would hate to do something that made me sound so bitter. Life is too short to be unhappy, you know?

Help! I hate my job!
Don't give up. There are plenty different areas that you can work as a nurse. It seems that some nurses here are very bitter people. I am not cut out for night shift either, so I found a job working days in a peds office. You don't have to be a hospital nurse to be a "real nurse". You didn't go to school and work so hard to be miserable. Money is not everything. Happiness is more important. Keep your head up!

Blood Draws
I am a new nurse and I am struggling with blood draws. I am over the anxiety but don't seem to be successful in finding a good vein and getting good blood return. I am at a loss and really want to get better at this. I work at a pediatric office so this is an even worse problem to have. Anyone got any good tips for me or any books that you can recommend. Help!!

Should I go through with it?
I will pray for your husband, you and your family and ask God to work the situation out to the best for you and the whole family. I am sorry that you are having a hard time and I hope that I have not offened you with talking about praying and God. I never want to overstep boundaries.

Theraputic communication
I know what you mean about the awkwardness of trying to use therapeutic communication. I sometimes feel the same way as you do. I think that there is some really good advice below though. I am going to also take advantage of that info for my use. Hope that things get easier for both of us.

nclex for lpn
I used several books to study for the NCLEX LPN but don't be surprised to see questions that you haven't studyed in school. You just have to use the stuff that you have learned and apply that to pick the best answer. Almost everyone that I have talked to from my class felt like they guessed alot and didn't pass but so far everyone that took the test passed. Study but don't get too overwhelmed when you are taking the test. Good Luck. I am sure that you are going to do fine. You will be writing in a few months and say that you passed!!! :)

Witnessed a terrible death last night--pls help me...
I am too a new nurse and have not experienced the death of a patient yet but I was told be an instructor at school to read the book..."Final Gifts" the author is Callanan. This book has so much info to help you understand the dying and the experiences that they have near death and some parts of the book are true life stories that we printed with the permission of the patients that were dying. It gives you a whole different outlook on life and I know that I feel better prepared for the death of a patient now. Please consider reading it. I am so sorry for your awful experience and I hope that you will soon be able to cope and feel better about things. Keep your head up.

Is this normal?
Model 50, I graduate in November and sometimes I still feel like I don't know as much as I should. One semester is not enough to get discouraged over. I have been told many times by the instructors that nursing school gives you the basics to practice safely and that you learn the rest in the "real world". Just remember that the people hiring you are not looking at your letter grades....they are looking at your nursing license....keep your head up. You are going to do OK!!!
